This is the first time I've been in a tent in 15 years or more. It's nice being off the ground but trailers are still better!

We camped here after a scale poker run the night before. Over 100 rigs on the course!

Started my plotting and figuring on my RTT yesterday while bored on break time. image.jpgimage.jpg

Yes I am just a bit old school and yes my plans for my hinges are drawn on the end of a fab table in soap stone.

Beautiful. I'm looking forward to taking mine out to the mountains again. Stayed in a cabin last time since we weren't too familiar with the area. May end up taking the tent next time before it gets too hot then I'll be taking the trailer again.

Been out a few times with the Tacoma but haven't taken any pics, most recently Big Basin Redwoods SP. This was my car camping set up before the Tacoma on a trip to Big Sur. Have since retired that 15 year old North Face Mountain 25. It was no longer suitable for extreme weather use so I retired it to just car camping trips, now no longer have it and have moved on to something more practical for car camping. I used to work for the company, hence all the TNF gear. Also attached a pic of my sub 10 pound ultralight (minus food and water) set up.

Nice MSR steaks, I would go anywhere without mine, and of course my snow peak titanium cup.

I've been camping for over 35 years. I'm still involved in Scouting and I'm outdoors at least twice monthly in a bag, often not in a tent- just on the ground with a bivy. Winter, Summer, Fall, Spring- all season camping, hiking and hunting.

For the life of me- I just don't get why anyone would want to climb a ladder and sleep in a second story tent. Is there some rationale I'm missing here? I think I saw one for sale locally for several thousand dollars. A tent.

I can pitch my Nemo tent in under 5 minutes, break it under 7. What's the logic of this roof tent? Afraid of snakes and spiders? I'm pretty sure I can bust camp just as fast if not faster than that roof tent.

Kinda personal preference I guess. For me and the family, wife and two kids and the two pups enjoy the CVT tent iv done the ground tents they suck when you go out on a mutiple day run expedition sleeping on the ground gets old really quick I could live out of my tent for weeks no problem
