    What do you mean?

Next time I see ya let me take a look at the truck. Maybe I can find a way to turn off your traction control.

It's got a button for it. Although when we were at Black Mountain I still kept feeling the front tires getting mad. It may have been grabbing the pinch weld though, I can usually tell the difference.

Nope, no slipping, just started slowing down so I gave it more gas but nothing was happening. No climb in revs, nothing. Just for a couple seconds, then it came back. Trying to figure out if that was normal or if maybe I have a fuel delivery issue? I know I need a new fuel filter (Toyota told me so anyway last time I had my truck there), maybe it's time I took care of that

Did you push in both pedals at the same time?

Sounds odd for sure, unfortunately I'm not much of an engine guy, got my handle on suspension and how it works quite well but haven't really had the best opportunity to spin wrenches beyond a head gasket change several years ago.

Have you ever tried holding down the button? With Bryan's if he clicked it for a second it would only partially turn off. If he held it down it would turn off completely
That's normal. Just means you need to go down a gear or stall, and unfortunately you were in 1st gear so no downshift. I used to experience that all the time when I would drive up to Big Bear mountain

Hindsight being what it is: I probably should have used this at Cleghorn... just to be safe.

y'know. I haven't tried that, actually. I think the dash lights are the same so I always just tapped it once. I'll check it out next time I'm in the truck.

hahaha I actually had to think about it for a sec :bananadead:

Ok cool thank you! Yeah after I about learned that the hard way I chose the right gearing for the right climbs and had zero issues whatsoever for the rest of the trip. Sounds like it was just user error/naivety, lol

I would've made the same mistake. I always like to try and do things with the least amount of help as possible. If I know I can do a hill in 4H I might try it in 2wd just to push myself. Its one of the reasons I rarely use my 4wd. I like to think of it as more of a safety net than a crutch. It's not uncommon to see me even romping around in the snow in 2wd

Very true. I mostly keep mine in 4hi on trails just to keep everything moving and lubricated. But yeah, I came from a 2wd Prerunner and the obstacles I was able to tackle in that thing were impressive (still got stuck quite a bit lol). Reminds me I need to get around to doing the grey wire mod so I can use my locker in 2wd...

Think I'll plan to grab dinner out there though. Traffic coming back was a little ridiculous for a Saturday

Here's the damage from yesterday (actually I'm pretty sure it probably happened at Cleghorn)

    Screenshot_2016-05-22-13-38-04.jpg

Someone told me I can get a muffler hanger from Autozone that won't require any welding, anyone know about that? I'm headed down there in a bit but just thought I'd see

If we start on the Bouquet Canyon Rd side next weekend and end up exiting on Sierra Hwy, there's a great little cafe about a mile or two down the highway called Halfway House Cafe, it's been around forever...bunch of movies have been filmed there over the years. Great food too
