Dang, I must have missed that. I'll have to go back a bit and see if i can find it. Thanks!

I wasn't really looking for a ruggedized, but if the price is right it might be worth a look.

What are the pros and cons/advice on what side to have my CVT mounted on my bed rack. Should it open off the back, driver, or passenger side?

Mine opens passenger. Only because if I'm going to get something from the back or inside, I want clear access.

If you set it up to open off the back towards the tailgate then you have the possibility of having the RTT hang over the tailgate which will provide cover from rain & also shade should you wish to cook on your tailgate. If you set it up to open up either driver or passenger, then that is just personal preference and I don't really see that it provides any advantages or disadvantages either way.

image.jpg So in Yosemite it got to 34 degrees at night, tent had frost all over and in the inside the walls of the tent were wet. Anyway to not have this? My blankets were wet as well :(

Had you sprayed the tent down like CVT says to do to make the fabric swell a little bit?

Those are tough conditions to tent in. Humid there? Camp near a body of water?
I would suggest increased air flow in the tent.
Check out to see what features a 4 season tent has and try to incorporate them, if you can, into the RTT.

Make sure you have all the vents open. The water inside is from you breathing so other than venting the tent it can be hard to really eliminate.

Though you make it sound like you had a ton of water

So I put mine Driver side opening for two reasons... 1 because I'm 6'3 and wanted it mounted low, so if it opened over the tailgate I'd make it hard to get stuff in and out (plus I mounted an Awning and I use my tailgate for cooking)

and, because I can always put the passenger side right next to something, but always need to be able to get in and out of the driver door, so usually I have more clearance.

Any tent requires some ventilation to avoid condensate buildup. Even a tiny bit will work wonders. Best thing to do in the colder conditions is use a weather hood for its insulation and water resistance. The weather hood will let you stake the corners out so you don't trap moisture in the tent.

What size CVT you have plays a factor. The bigger models will have a bit of overhang on the left & right sides if you mount it to open to the rear.

Nope not a joke... you lightly spray the OUTSIDE of the tent... Says so on CVTs website...

The joke I made about removing the matress to spray the inside was the only joking part
