Thread got jacked anyway. Fugg it. Clear is not mixed in with black paint to achieve a gloss. That would only tint the clear. Your truck has a clear coat on it. Your source is full of sh!t. Not trying to start a pissin match but I hate seeing false info thrown out here as fact.

    No hard feelings

It's a single stage paint. There is no clear coat. Read the differences of single stage vs base clear

Holy cow you certainly waste no time jumping between them. My GF has a 15 Rav4 that we both like a lot. Extremely practical. If for some reason we had to get rid of one of them the Taco would go. And you can get built in Japan ones! My jaw must have almost hit the ground when I looked at the vin. Pretty sweet.

Did you just change the words "super white" to "black" and "Tundra" to "Tacoma" and copy and paste from this post?

image.jpg image.jpg I have my 16 Taco and the wife has her 16 RAV4 XLE. Her Rav is fun to drive and seems to be great. Likewise the Taco

That's cool. My wife has a 2015 rav4 XLE, Hot Lava, and I am going to get a 2017 Tacoma Sport in Inferno. I really like the Rav4, but I don't get to drive it much. 20150525_164151.jpg

My wife has a 2010 rav, base model. I drive it all the time. Just hit 68k miles on it and it drives better than my 2016 Tacoma. Not knocking the taco or anything but it's true. Don't think she'll upgrade to a new model though.

Yep, and I wouldn't trade my Subaru Legacy (same shit, it actually steers for you to a small degree) for anything else. 15+ hours of time on the road a week... I want it to be as safe, comfortable and low-effort as possible... I'll leave highly involved driving to offroad use.

Not that I want to keep the thread-jacking going, but now I'm curious ... out of the colors for 2016, which ones are single stage? If metallics and pearls are clear coated, that would mean Blazing Blue Pearl, Silver Sky Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, and Barcelona Red Metallic are clear coated ... and now we seem to have indication that Super White and Black are single stage. But what about Quicksand and Inferno?

I've never been one to walk away from a dead horse so. ..here's the response I got from Toyota. It has a clear coat. Metallics just have additional layers. Na-nah na-nah boo-boo, stick your head in doo-doo. J/k!

No need, I've painted enough vehicles to know how it works.
