Sleeping in a tent is still sleeping in a tent. Whether you're on the ground or on a truck bed. You sleep on an air mattress. One is easier to break down than the others but tents are marginal at best for inclement weather and provide little to no insulation. ALINER for the win.

I have the Sports TentII,made for 6'bed and now I have the 5' bed.I saw a post on here where a guy had the same and it seemed to fit.I also read on here that one guy sets his tent up on the ground then lifts it up into the bed.So I don't think it would be complete take down to go somewhere, would have to secure tent while gone.I am looking forward to setting it up and trying it.Will post pics.If it don't fit I may have to buy the smaller tent. Many bears where I live,so ya I want to be off the ground.Oh I also have an Aframe camper so I will see how it tows that.

Topper, metal rack on truck and topper, awning, lighting in topper
We use an air mattress with a 2 inch memory foam topper on top in our short bed, getting out to pee is a pain in the ass but we are comfortable and warm! Our only wish was we had a taller topper but then we wouldn't be able to have the rack. I make the bed before we leave and everything else is toted and put on the top of the rack. Neither of us are big people either, hubby is 5'10" and 165. If we were thicker I don't know how easy it would be to get in and out.
