Anyone have a secret for getting rear diff plugs off. I've got a 1/2 drive ratchet and a 24mm socket. No matter how much blaster I spray on it the fuckers won't come loose.

Truck only has 140k on it. Idk if the stuff has ever been changed.

@T4RH33L had mentioned replacing bushings in some springs he's got, mounted ? unmounted (on or off truck ) ? I dunno

i've got a set of '14 pack i wanna slide under my junk, see how it sits them go from there, will still keep the bags but might not have to air them up so much hauling "Kev-Doh-'minimum"
need to brush up on my welding skills too, got the itch to make something, recently scored a 3x3 chunk of heavy bar plate grating, make a nice welding/plazma table.
need to dig thru my drop/scraps see what i can make legs out of.

please tell us you tried to pull the fill plug first before pulling the drain plug ?

honestly, I've had to hit them with an impact before to get them off, fill and drain.

if there is no wet around the axle ends or pinion yoke, your level is likely good, if you wanna slide by sometime this week on your way to or from Wiltson ( I'm 2 miles north of hwy 42 24 miles west of Wilson ) be glad to help you out

possible I may have a spare plug around as well

Yeah I was trying to get the fill/vent before the drain plug.

Maybe an impact will be what it needs. Yeah I'll see what I've got going on this week if I can't get it off letting it sit overnight in blaster. If not it will get pushed back a little while longer. Slowly trying to change all the fluids since I don't really have maintenance records from the last two owners. Better safe than sorry in my book.

I like to add a piece of pipe to my ratchet and get some physics working for me if I've got the clearance to maneuver. I really need to get an impact...I feel like a bum because I always borrow my neighbors.

The Ryobi one system seems to really interest me tool wise. A ton of tools and a simple battery system. They even have an impact wrench. 1/2 drive. Plus I'm sure as much as I want to do to my truck that whole system will really come in handy with all the tools they have.

A stock 22RE puts out 116hp, it's miserable enough with a manual and over size (33") tires and 4.10 gears, 4wd automatics got 4.88 gears, it's helps, but not that much
22RE is a mid upper RPM power producer, there is NO low end, so trying to pull all that rubber has got to be miserable ( which is the basis of my WHY ? comment )

I'm not a big fan of the battery combos like that. Unless you use and recharge those suckas on a regular basis, the batteries die quick. The replacement cost of those babies are ridiculous too! I've got a small compressor that can give me enough torque to change my wheels. That's about all I've used it for so far.

Anyone have a blueprint for mounting the Hi-lift in the trunk? Looking for a DIYer mount, unless its cheaper to buy one.
