The trail took about 4 hrs going the other way, so if we start at 9 we should have plenty of time if we wanted to go there afterward. (Should)

I'm surprised you can't find a muffler shop to quickly fix that mount.

I know of at least 4-5 places near me that would do it for $10-$20.

I've got an appt with a local place early next week, I'm sure it'll be cheap. There's a rod that connects from the hanger on the tailpipe and loops through that rubber grommet on the other side of the leaf spring, not sure how common that is or if they'll need to order a part.

They shouldn't need to order anything.

I had exhausts done on just about every single vehicle I've ever owned. They usually handle small amounts of "fabrication" in the shop with no issues.

Not to mention they usually have a ton of scrap from stock take offs.

I'm sure you'll be good and it will be a fast and cheap fix. If they tell you they need to order a specific part and cost is above $20, I would personally go someplace else.

Agreed. I'm sure there's even people on here that would do it either fast or for free. Hit up @Shmellmopwho. Maybe he'd be willing to do a quick weld like that :notsure:

Speaking of exhausts...have any of you dumped your exhaust after the axle? Mine is hitting my dakar leaf springs now but I'm worried that if I cut the exhaust i'm gonna get a lot of highway drone

I considered dumping it, but didn't because I was concerned about water having an easier path to get in the muffler.

That may not actually make a difference, but the bend over the axel seemed to make it much more difficult.

That's an issue? I always thought the engine puts out enough exhaust that it can't do that :notsure:

    Yeah me either.

I don't think for a sec the water would make it to the engine, but in to the muffler itself once submerged is my only concern. And the concern being accelerating the aging process of the muffler itself.

I'd be glad to know that it's not possible. Then maybe I'll cut mine to ensure a larger spare will fit in the stock location.
