Split with the wife in May and had a falling out with the girlfriend a couple weeks ago, so I am spending Christmas alone. Anyone else?

Oh, not with family since my sister's boyfriend is scared of me. He won't come if I go and since they have two kids together, seems like I should stand back.

Thats sad to hear, but remember most happy people have had a rough spot at one point in life. The positive thing to remember is we all make it out and our situations will always improve if we want them to.

Sorry to hear you are alone.... I am for now, since both the kids are working. :( Just me and the pooches.

Daughter in law works in a retirement home and I'm gonna take the pooches over there later on to try and bring some wagging tails and puppy kisses to those that don't have anyplace to go.

Sounds like you could use a funny story. Before I can take the dogs to the home, they needed a bath. I didn't bring any doggie shampoo with me... so Wendy says how about an oatmeal bath. She'd done it for her parents' dog. So she grinds up oatmeal in a blender and we mix it 1-1 with water. Turns out real thick and gloppy. Put Ollie in the tub and she starts eating the oatmeal as Wendy puts it on her (not sure if oatmeal in quantity is good for a dog) and Ollie is cleaning up most of what hits the tub floor - so try to distract her from her eating. The "shampoo" was way too thick and even after I thinned it down some, it was still too thick, but not too bad on Ollie since she has thin hair. You ever try to spread super thick, chunky oatmeal? Doesn't work very well. Rinse her off and out she gets, and she still tries to eat the stray chunks of oatmeal.

Then it's Annie's turn. She has lots of hair and the oatmeal is way too thick, so thin it down more to try and get the oatmeal to spread on her coat. Then Annie decides to sit and that makes it harder to rinse her off (the floor of the tub is covered with hair and chunks of oatmeal). We rinse out what we can and get her out of the tub. She shakes and globs of oatmeal and hair goes flying all over... Picture gloppy, chunks of oatmeal and 4" long black hair. Then had to clean the gloppy stuff and dog hair out of the tub. I'm also wondering if all the oatmeal going down the drain is going to clog it up

After writing it down it doesn't seem so funny, but at the time the dogs and gloppy oatmeal made it real funny. With them trying to eat the oatmeal and Annie not wanting to get into the tub and then standing there looking like we were torturing her... And the mess we had to clean up.

I hope you got a laugh at my story....

    Merry Christmas

My sisters boyfriend...er, uh, what ever he is. A few years ago I was letting her live at my house. I was working as a cop then, anyway, they got into a scuffle and my neighbor called me. So, I came home, when I walked in the door, he had her by the neck. Smacking the piss out of her. Well, I am not known for having a very understanding personality. So, it got ugly. Funny thing, he wasn't very tough when not hitting a girl.:D

I appreciate all the kind thoughts. It is one of the resons I love this forum. We always seem to stick together.

I would show up just for the princible of what he did.

Ive been in the same shoes, spending Christmas alone. One thing it did for me was to appreciate what we have and not worry about the little things in life.

Yeah same here, but I'm okay with it... My girl is out with her sister and her family. I lost my mom last Christmas and my dad the Christmas before. I just try to remember how blessed we are. Later today I am going to a hospital to visit my friend's dad that recently lost his leg to infection and now has just suffered a stroke. WE ARE ALL VERY FORTUNATE!!! This trip to the Hospital is all I need to remind me.

This guy has an AMAZING attitude! Shortly after he lost his leg (days). I was telling him a story and he thought I was messin with him and I unknowingly said - "Al, I wouldn't pull your leg!" He started laughing soooo hard. I was so embarrassed and he thought it was hilarious.

    Merry Christmas!!!

Sorry to hear that man. I know how it can be though. When I first joined the Air Force I had to go to my first base on December 15th. Really sucked being in a new place and not really knowing anyone for Christmas.
