My brother-in-law from W Des Moines may join us if that is OK. He has a nice electric thrower.

His name is Ken, drives a Tan Chevy 1500

Hell, I didn't have my alerts set for this thread, sorry. I'll bring an old real estate sign and we can stick paper targets on it, if people just want to shoot handguns. I'll bring a few handguns, plenty of ammo and hearing and eye protection enough for 3 people.

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU @t4rwadle5 and his family for allowing us to come out to play! I thoroughly enjoyed the shooting and wheeling.

Also THANK YOU @Renaud33 for winching me back from the silty mess I buried myself in.

I hope my little adventure down the creek was entertaining as well as educational. Proper recovery gear and good team work will get you out of all kinds of messes.

I made it safely back to KC, have the truck unloaded and recovery gear sorted into it's temporary home until I finish my drawer storage system this week. I'll post up some pics of that soon.

As I suspected it was a valve stem snagged on a rock or log that caused the flat.

Well you didn't miss too much wheeling. I only made it about 60 yards up the creek the first time to encounter the downed tree. Climbed across my hood with the chain saw to free it up and then dragged the tree back to the crossing area where we entered to cut it up. Another trip up the creek and I buried my axles in a silty muck that was upstream from that tree. Recovery took a bit of acrobatics to not get totally soaked and just as I got free I heard the hiss from a valve stem that got ripped. :frusty:

In all we spent about 3 hours in the creek and only covered about 130 yards.

Totally had a blast though! :D

That's freakin hilarious. I prob would have enjoyed the shooting and fishing more than the wheeling. My truck isn't 100% ready yet for the tough trails.

Rob and the gang you guys were great to have down there and it was great to see a bunch of guys who have never met help each other out. Hope DiscountTire gets that old tired taken care of for you and the farm didn't mess up your truck too much. And looking forward to the drawer system you are going to build.
I will say it did start getting me thinking about my next purchase. That was a riot with an auto thrower.
Thanks for the pictures, and sorry if I didn't get the best angle from my roof of you pulling him out. Maybe next time I will have my sister who is a professional photographer get some rolling shots.
Don't you feel a cold coming on? cough cough. . .
