Just installed. Rides better than expected. I posted earlier in this thread about Fox/King/ICON comps. The King reservoir mount is much better looking than fox's and ICON's... So if looks are an equal concern as performance, I believe I have the perfect setup with the King / Total Chaos setup. King part # 25001-119A-EXT

I have the same kings as you how much lift do you have with those cranked down that much ? Also how much up travel? I haven't adjusted mine yet just left them at the factory height.

I'm at 12 turns from factory height, the instructions say you can go to 17 turns for 3.5" of lift (on a 2015 taco, I know it's about .75-1" less than a 2016). I'm at about 3.5" of lift in the front... I'm guessing they will sag a little over time? Haven't measured droop or up travel yet.

The king resi mount is pretty much the exact same as the icon mount except it's silver vs. Black

Update, I'm taking it down an inch to get the best droop/compression range. So it'll be sitting about 1.5" higher in the front compared to the rear (which is still stock), and about 2.5" lift from stock. At my current configuration I'm only getting .75" droop at full extension, King recommends at least an inch. After adjustment I'll probably get 1.5" of droop.

Same here, though I may lower it just a tad in the rear. Not sure yet.

That seems like nothing? 1.5" of droop on the shock, or is that wheel travel?

1.5" of wheel travel droop from ride height. If I remember right it's 4.9" of shock travel from fully compressed to fully extended... Not sure what that comes out to in terms of wheel travel yet. Goin to the desert this weekend to flex it out and get the measurements.

How much lift did you get at the factory setting? UCAS installed? How is the ride?

I adjusted them down to 23.25" from the center of the hub to the fender. So that's 2.25" of lift. This put the UCA's at a much healthier angle and allows now for just about 2" of droop from ride height. It's 8 threads from the top now, I think factory comes with 4 or 5 threads showing.

I'm guessing King factory settings would put the truck at 1"-1.5"of lift. I installed the UCA's at the same time as the shocks so I don't know the stock config with TC UCA's.

Ride is absolutely amazing! I just test drove hitting speed bumps at 35mph and it floats over them like an off road buggy. It's incredible.

Anyone with experience on this lift solution please feel free to terrorize it, it needs a thrashing, NO but really money is about to change hands soon...I am hoping to dig out someone who has installed this on their 16, my eyes are tired, there may be some threads discussing that, if so yell at me....

Big circle for me I have hashed out all the lift packages and hybrids packages that I have time for, from the very cheap to top dollar I have evaluated/reviewed as much as I care to, but I always keep my ear to the ground. I am at the point of getting serious, getting a bit of a discount and using our OP thread sponsor @ToyTec Lifts, which by the way I find a very competent vendor.

To summarize, any pucks, blocks are entirely out as a primary lift solution. I have milled over Bilstein options and although they offer a great price point there is too many "Frankenstein" opportunities with coilovers, pre-load, rear packages not as perplexing as their is plenty of AAL's, progressives and total solutions for the rear, up FRONT is where most of the money is, why? that's just the way it is. Most of these combos of adjustable 5100's. 6112's have not had field time and quite frankly are undocumented and thoroughly tested.

Nothing wrong with Bilstein. Timing is amiss, possible production of 2016 solutions is unknown/untested. So they go to the bottom of the list.

Boy I have to say if money is no object I would go King balls to the wall. No doubt about it, drop all I have in this pod. I almost went in on the low end package nut it leaves to much behind, UCA's etc....$$

I like the ICON solution but the the stage thing, it is what it is bothers me, its more like how much money do you have to throw out?...I dont like it, the marketing approach, sorry guys, change it up. I have to say all I have seen and heard is good about ICON, but I will spend my money on whiskey, horrors an what makes me happy. Like a 2-4" lift, 285's new front and rear fenders, a bed solution etc, etc...

OME? Yes the twin tube correct and the travel...so be it. This has been tested by more than a very reliable source in my book of TacomaWorld...thanks and you know who you are. Not a bad solution at a good pricepoint. I like it especially with the dakars, but they need to improve upon their twin tube stuff, I hope I am not wrong here, and if I misquoted I apologize in advance...but its a show stopper for me.

So without going into the rest of the world of lifts as it relates to the 16 tacoma....I am considering jumping on the
Toytec Boss Suspension System for 16+Tacoma

Options are simple but comprehensive minus the driveline leveling kit, cant remember the name of the kit, Modello kicking in..., which will align my driveshaft with the rear diff....there we go....

I have not discussed any technical details with Toytec but I am considering this kit for real: yes I said that.....modello.

    - 2.0 Coilovers
    - Front Diff Drop Kit
    - Toytec 2" AAL
    - 2.0 Rear Shocks with remote reservoir
    - SPC LRUCA's
    - 1" body lift
    - Rear shims are in the kit

would like to add a flip kit.

About a 2k pricepoint with Toytecs discount...

On the rubber and rim side....all in for 275/17 or if I want to do some chop possible 285/17 , K02, Nitto, other possibilities..
Anyone who has gone this route and has some good feedback I sure could use it.

Please feel free to chime in, I hope I can get some good feedback on a Boss Lift. I have never seen any negatives, and with the SPC UCA's it attractive.....the only really upfront unknown is the AAL, my estimation with fresh springs on the 16 using the OL leaf this should be a fairly strong rear solution...the question is how much rake if any, or bro lean?

Another Big question for me is up front, 2.0 , 2" and the body lift 1" I should achieve 2.5 to 2.75" of lift....But this is a hypothetical in my estimation....hoping to find someone who has done this.

    Happy Wheeling.

I am not as knowledgeable as most on here, but happy to share my .02 as I just installed the Boss 2.0 system (mostly) on my TRD OR DC this weekend - and did it all myself with limited wrench turning experience.

I like the rake and cannot personally stand the brolean or Raleigh squat as the locals call it. To each their own, but not my cup of tea. I also went about things a bit backwards. I purchased a set of Fuel Beast 17 x 9 rims and 265/70/17 KO2s with the thought that they would fit without rubbing.

I was wrong. They did rub. Not terribly, but enough to be annoying so I decided on a lift. Most of my driving is in the city with the exception being trips out to the farm/hunting camp and driving on the beach a handful of times a year - plus any excursions that I now have the ability to consider. Fun stuff.

So, my goal was to raise it just enough to clear the tires, but also maintain the rake. If I could increase performance and ride quality, all the better. I finally decided on the ToyTec Boss 2.0 system and couldn't be happier, but I did make a couple of small changes.

I did not want the 2" AAL. Mostly because I only wanted about 1.5" of lift in the back, but also because my research suggested a progressive AAL would be a better solution (never considered blocks or spacers). I looked at the 5100s, OME, Icon and ToyTec and decided that all were overkill for my needs, and ToyTec offered the best compromise between price and performance. YMMV.

So, I ordered what amounted to the ToyTec Boss 2.0 system with everything except the AAL. I got the progressive AAL from Wheelers Off-Road and ended up with about 2.25" lift up front and 2" lift in back. I think it is perfect. I expect it to settle some, but can adjust the front if necessary.

I didn't see any need for remote reservoir shocks, and wanted to avoid replacing the UCAs.

With an extra set of hands and help from this forum I was able to get everything installed in about 10 - 12 hours. Someone who knew what they were doing and didn't have to make multiple trips for tools could get it done a lot faster. The progressive AALs did require cutting off the stock leaf spring guides, but other than it was pretty much plug and play and relatively painless.

I have yet to take it off road or anything like that, but in terms of looks and ride quality it is awesome. I believe that you could fit 275 tires underneath it without any cutting, but believe 285s will require some trimming, someone with more experience can correct me on that. I personally like the looks of the 265 tires, but that is all up to personal opinion.

Oh, I did use the differential drop kit, but did not use the rear axle shim because I didn't think it was necessary.

Not sure if that helps if that is what you are looking for, but from someone who went down a similar path I am very pleased with the ToyTec Boss 2.0.

Awesome. Great feedback and much appreciated.

I am glad to here you are happy with it,
I definitely am shooting for a slight rake as the rear over time and toll will settle more than we want with load.
I have to dig into the SPC's because I do want a bigger tire, probably not the 285's or 17"s , wishfull pie in the sky, but an option, looking for that in between happy world real life commute and off road...which can be a fine line or grossly misconstrued FU.

Can I say "I" one more time? I have decide on UCA's not because I have $$ to throw out to the crowd, knowing I have other convenience mods to make it all real, but because of the need to get the geometry right for my configuration. Somehow there seems to be a need to have that flexibility, especially since I am going to add a 1" body lift kit, may keep it, maybe not but for 150 and some time its worth the look see.

Glad to hear it all worked out for you and +1+ on the vote of confidence, BOSS 2.0
