I tore into my axles this weekend... posted in AZ regional. Tell me what you think of my solution for the SST to press off the bearing, retainers, and abs ring...

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/rear-axle-seal-bearing-replacing-check-it-out.433313/

sneak peak. I think I could nearly refine this solution and make a few. So basic - thick plate to go around and under the abs ring (maybe figure a way to attach to 3 studs), then have a few m10x1.25 to .5" threaded adapters made (instead of shitty welding 2 together) - so much simpler than the big tube tools available now, and you don't need a big press either.

I need this so bad. I spent all Saturday trying several different setups on a 20T press and never got it done. Might have to hand in my man card.

How are you running the wire out the toolbox? I'm just worried about mine having water come in or something

Do those just look like bigger openings or do the bushwackers let you cut away some...

    Productive weekend!

Blacked out my grill. Bumper chrome is next weekend.
    IMG_2359.jpg

Mounted my flashlight to the shifter console. Used some washers on both sides and bolts instead of the wood screws it came with (felt like they would pull right out of the 1999 plastic)
    IMG_2368.jpg

Changed the valve cover gasket and cleaned the bay. Lots of old grime had built up along with the leaking oil. This was an interesting project. Lots of learning and help from my brother-in-law. Didn't get much pictures once my hands got too filthy.

Cut an inch from the front (rear part of fender) and 2" from the rear (1" from both ends)

The main wires for the fuse panel come in via the box mounting holes from underneath:

My UWS doesn't have those. Guess just drilling some holes somewhere around there wouldn't hurt with a rubber grommet or something

Your brake fluid and reservoir look amazing, but your clutch fluid is dark. How many miles are on this truck?

i have read a bunch and can honestly probably give one heck of a research page to anyone looking into this but as far as i have read it does not state the physical years they come one other then in the later year tundras.
so should i assume they are from like 2004 to current?
