Waxing is nice too but it just fills the scratches... They add character

Here is my new "James Baroud" Evasion EVO RTT on my 2001 Tacoma. Yes, I can still park it in the garage :) it is on top of a "Front Runner" Slimline II Rack.

The *original* weather hood from Tepui. Great addition for cold weather, but also for rain. Throw it on and keep the canvas dry so you don't have to pack up a damp tent.
I know other companies are now selling these, even used the same name, but these are the original. ;)

Interesting. Wouldn't those just cause extra condensation inside the tent?

    Cold vs condensation I'm guessing

I suppose that's possible but the weather hoods have vents like the tents do, so that helps. There will always be some condensation, but a lot depends on the conditions. A local guy has one and used it a bunch this winter here in Utah. He said he didn't notice much difference at all in condensation. So....full disclosure, I haven't used one personally, so I'm going off of feedback from customers and everyone I've spoken with really likes it and hasn't had any complaints about condensation or otherwise. The thing we here most is how nice they are to throw on the tent if it starts raining. It keeps the tent dry so it doesn't have to be set up to dry out once they get home.

I'd go for a hard shell RTT in a heart beat if it wasn't for the cost - much more streamlined.

I agree, it was hard to make the decision to spend that much on a hard shell RTT. But after being without a RTT for close to a year I realized how convenient they really are, and decided I wanted a much easier set up and take down. My Autohome Airtop literally pops open in 5 seconds with the gas struts, and I can have it put away in as little as a minute, and that's if I take my time tucking in the material.

Hang in there for pricing on the new Tepui hard shell. I don't know final pricing yet but it could be good. I dig that they're so low profile (8" tall when closed) and the load bars on the top are cool for adding racks etc.

few more "spy" photos someone grabbed at the Overland Expo. Keep in mind, this is likely not a final production model. More of a prototype, but final version should be very similar.

Doesn't look like there is much head room in there at all, could a grown adult even sit up in there?

I would think that's a aspect of the design that was definitely considered. I've been aware of the development of this for a while but I haven't actually seen it in person yet so I can't comment for sure about your question. I have a call with Tepui scheduled for tomorrow and I'll see what additional info I can get and hopefully I'll have one of these for some field testing soon and can give some detailed feedback.

Any speculation on the pricing? Hoping for better than the ones coming out of Europe.

Not yet, but that's something I'll try to find out. Like I said, final pricing may not get locked down until its closer to the release date in the Fall. But I know Tepui has wanted this to be a quality tent at a price that is competitive.
