That hedge is only two plants. Spaced about 6 feet apart. There were three more that continued it along the driveway, but I didn't like how closed off it made everything. Future tip: photinia are a bitch to remove with their multiple tap roots, but the limited firewood you get from them is amazing stuff.

How well do those little walk behind trenchers work? I'm thinking of renting one when I put in the irrigation for my back lawn/garden.

Worked well. The radius was a mother in law to get through. That thing weighs 500 lbs if it weighs an ounce and getting it to turn is a bi+ch. I'm gonna be sore tomorrow!

Rented from Home Depot. $125 for 4 hours. I got it cuz the "soil" here in CO is hard packed clay. The trencher is slow but steady. Best part is the soil is really broken up for easier backfill.

I trenched prolly 60 feet in 90 min. Had to stop and dig out buried construction materials a couple of times so that added a bit of time. I would have not wanted to hand dig it. I did about 20 feet to get away from my main service and that was enough!

    IMO well worth the $.

Just some stained concrete - I thought it was mold at first, but nope, just 100 years in this dirty air I guess.

    Any opinion on this?

Our shower wall had a soap dish and it gave way yesterday. The brown spots in the corners are down to paper.

Is this an easy fix to get it decently repaired or should I be looking into retiling the shower walls?

if it was me I'd retile (no real construction experience here), but that is just due to how old it looks...wife would want it updated and probably use that as a tipping point to do it lol

It would get replaced in the next year.

Single income for the last year so not an ideal time, but if it's time then it's time.

Any fix is temporary, hoping for a cheap one though, if it exists.

Did our first major house project this past weekend. Got the Hardie Backer board up on Saturday and laid the brick on Sunday. Really happy with the out come and ready to tackle the next project.

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
could use a primer/sealer like Zinsser Bin to seal the exposed area. Then probably just as simple as re-installing a new tile then grout it up.

maybe knock a couple more tiles out, cut the backer a little bigger, slap a new piece of the mold resistant backer in there and tile back up. OZ may have a better answer.

That to me would indicate that the drywall or whatever the substrate is has absorbed moisture

If it didn't before, it has since. It's our only shower so it's been getting steamed or sprayed on since last night when it broke.
