Is there a dipstick for manual transmission fluid? I only found the reservoir for clutch fluid.

The slushbox is sealed for life, that's what I know. So how do we check the fluid for manual? Or they are also sealed?

I think Toyota sealed them on purpose, so they can cut corners and shave about 1 Quart fluid filling off of every truck produced. :D With no dipstick, it sure is hard for the average consumer to ever know any better.

It's sealed on my previous FJ Cruiser too. But I just want to know about the manual.

    Manuals have a fill/check and a drain.

Manual should have a drain plug and fill plug, fluid should just barely drip out of the fill plug hole when removed.
I don't know if it's that way on the 3rd gens but previous gens were set up like that.

    I always checked mine cold.
Probably doesn't make a crap ton of difference because manual trans oil doesn't get as warm as auto trans fluid.

It may be my inexperience but I've not seen a manual trans truck with a dipstick for the trans.

In all the manual transmission passenger vehicles I've seen in 25+ years of working on them I've yet to see a dip stick on a stick shift.

My 2003 Tacoma TRD OR V6 5-speed manual had one. It had a yellow handle IIRC. Could be wrong though. It's been a while since I have had that truck.
