Damn that sucks! Go 285s if you plan to wheel it. I got 265s and regret it

Only got 265s because I couldn't afford 285s at the time and needed new tires

 

It is a bitch, take your time and go thru the side.

Also, save yourself a Metric sh!t ton of money and just rebuild it. The bushings and spring are super easy to replace and cost ~$9.

 

So if I do the 285s then pinch well mod is required correct? Even on prerunner right...

I got these... from a 4runner they are 17" , and just bought brake lines from wheelers as they said no mods are needed to do the conversion..let's hope he's right

Decided to set my lug nuts to spec. Most of the wheels weren't too much over, but the rear passenger side...goddamn. Just to loosen them I and to use my legs. No idea why that wheel was torqued so tightly. All are in spec now. 83 lbs/ft, correct?

 

I've got this clunk, well I've got many, but this one's new, when I hit the brakes in reverse I get a clunk. I thought it might be drive line or suspension, but it seems to brake pads shift a good amount as the brakes are applied. Might be an easier fix then I thought, but they're relatively new brakes...

 

Spring break loose some how..

 

cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body as well as dielectric greased all fuses and electrical connections... seems to sound different but only drove 18 miles since ... touchier exhaust note change on throttle input.

No front. Pretty sure either the pins are loose or the holes have worn, I haven't turn into it yet though.

 

Well, you asked if 285s will only require pounding on the pinch weld to clear. Depends on the wheels too.

I am always suspicious of 2nd gen wheels on our trucks because they have so much backspacing. Do you have stock UCAs? With too much BS, 285s are known to interfere with the upper ball joint area in stock arms.

I am unfamiliar with those particular wheels. How wide are they. What is their offset (typically stamped on the inside of Toyota wheels) or backspacing? Are you running or plan to run wheel spacers?

 

Pulled the steering wheel, put in a used OEM which had stock CC and attached wire from CC stalk to plug. No joy with aftermarket CC still attached.

I need to find aftermarket CC install instructions to see if they disconnected unused OEM line to stalk plug or did something else. I didn't look through all or trace CC line to ECU. Will have to do that. I wasn't about to blindly sever its wires without learning more about the hookup.

Also junkyard wheel did not have upper metal add on that flexes, dunno what that is, I will have to take a pic. If you are looking at wheel without the horn pad, it's on the straddles to top of the center, metal, has a couple screws attaching and can be pushed slightly.

Ok. It's a Rostra 250-1223 kit.

 

I'll get you those specs in 30 minutes as I'm about to get off work and gave them in back of truck and figured I would have to use spacers to make them work...if I recall correctly we have et15 and these are et30.. il put up picture shortly and measure them.i know they are 17"s lol and came from a 2014 4runner he said
