I bought one of the 52qt ones and am very impressed with it overall, but unlike OP I lack motivation to perform a controlled test.

I Can't wait to run across one the 52 quart. Iv been in several walmarts across South Georgia and haven't seen one yet!

 

These things have flown off the shelves here in Northern Va faster than 22 ammo in Wally World.....The new Walmart in South Riding had 14 at lunch time and they are now gone!!!

 

I'm sure that's how it's gone be here once they make it.

They had misc sizes and I asked the shitbucket to but one aside and put at will call and that didn't happen on a 52qt the manager said he would order one and give me 15% off....

 

Yeti and their similar competitors have been price skimming. That's not a negative thing, its just how business works. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Price_skimming. But with RTIC, and now Ozark Trail entering the market, and aggressively driving prices down the curve these high quality coolers will only get cheaper. Roto molding equipment isn't cheap but making these coolers isn't rocket science. Unfortunately it's going to take longer for the 150 to 170 quart coolers I really need to come down in price.

 

Iv bought a couple of the 20oz and 30 oz cups just because . I really do want one of the coolers. They gone make good Christmas gifts
