I have the same exact whine. What did they say and what was the issue?

Got impatient and put the switch-pro button pad on. Still waiting for a blank bussman plate I ordered from tacomapros to show up before I install and wire up the rest of the system and put the ARB compressor in the bed cubby.
Icon ext stage 4 setup, Firestone ride rites and daystar cups are all here but waiting for June 4th which will be when my assistant(broh) can help me install.

Just look at all those buttons!!! Allot of cool stuff I'll be installing in the future but for now it's just imagination time pew pew pew pew:laser:

I've been lurking here for a while. I've done a couple mods seen here on TW, I thank you, but my wallet doesn't, LOL. I just got done with the Pop-n-Lock and thought to myself, Hmmm that is a way to unlock my truck if I leave the keys in it. All I would need is a 12 volt supply and a ground to splice into the Pop-n-Lock blue and green wires. Does anyone think this would attract thieves? If they hear it, and know what is making the noise? I know Paranoid, but just because I think they're out to get me doesn't mean they aren't.

I simply told them exactly what I was hearing, and they took it out for a stroll. The technician heard the whine as well. So they checked my transmission, driveline, and both the front and rear diff fluid levels. All were fine. They said the the next step is to open the rear diff and check for bad bearings or gears, which is what they suspect is the issue. The only problem is that the need the service manager to give them the final ok to open the diff, and he is on vacation until Tuesday. They have called and texted him to get the go ahead. They also called Toyota Technical Assistance and are getting their take on it. My service writer is going to call me as soon as they hear something, so that I can bring the truck back in and get loaner while they open up the diff. He and the technician are almost positive that there is a bad bearing or gear in the rear diff, and if that is the case, then they are ordering a new rear diff gear assembly to replace the one I have. So far I am extremely satisfied with the service. I haven't had to fight to get them to do anything! Now hopefully the manager gives the go head before he comes back from vacation on Tuesdsy....

Another lurker checking in, too. First post, so I figured it should be decent. Fab'd up a plexiglass aux fuse block panel for an 8 circuit Blue Sea w/o ground, and a main fuse. Tapped holes to hang 5 relays off the back. Didn't bother with a brace like some peeps have, and just made it low enough to where the bottom rests atop a factory relay. Since my craft ain't made of fiberglass or wood, figured it made more sense (to me) to run a panel without ground; to save money, space, and time of having run a ground all the way back - and just use the body where it's convenient. Also mounted a 6 circuit ground bus bar (not pictured) under the plastic trim piece above the fender for the relay grounds so they'll be outta sight. Next step, figure out what to run where, and where to run what.

Damn.. I should've taken it there then. I gave my truck to Frank Toyota in National City from where I bought it from with a leak from my rear diff, and they called me and told me that they need 3 weeks to return my truck. I only had my truck for 3 weeks total, and it already had gone back to the service center 3 times with them. I got a corolla from them till then. WTF. They say the part they need (rear diff oil seal) is on back order or something like that. I have so much work to do for which I need my truck for, and I'm really wanting to get my truck back. They are just absolutely indifferent to my needs. I said ATF fluid needs to be topped off, and they said no. I said this is what I want, and I want you to check, and they'd say there is no way to check the level, and I said, I don't care. Later they update me that it was half a quart low. So far, I had bucking truck several times, grinding gears twice, truck shut down by itself while in idle, low ATF, loose u-bolt which I was able to un-screw with my hands, and now leaking diff. sigh!

They will take a couple of hours and I would have another hand to help if possible...those suckas are heavy (but in a good way). Check out the directions a few times on their site and look at the pics they have explaining why they are so strong (they help to visualize how some of the brackets piece together). If you run into any snags, give one of the Joes a shout and they will be glad to assist!

I'm now inclined to look for these hidden everywhere. I hadn't noticed it in 3000 miles. Bastards!

Lol I wish. I usually stand to the front of the truck so that I can't actually see the inside of the fuel door.

We bought my wife's van from carvana. When we opened that fuel door, were found a $50 visa gift card for gas.
