Just sold my supercharged c6. I'm looking to buy my first Tacoma. I can't decide between a regular cab or access cab. I like the look of the regular cab look so much better, but I want to mount a roof top tent and still be able to carry my motorcycle In the rear. There are a lot of advantages of the access cab (power windows, able to mount a roof top rack, v6).

My main question would be can you mount a cvt on a regular cab and still fit a motorcycle in the back?

I could eventually get remote start, power windows and locks for a regular cab.

Picture to get more interest, lol

    I can't remember
Get the regular cab and put a canopy on it. Built a full length rack from the front of the cab to the back of the canopy. Buy a trailer for the bike.

What about a roof rack that extends part way over the bed of the truck? Like a ladder rack but with only the roof rack part and the first support on the bed...

Like this only have it end about a foot or two after the cab.

What kind of bike? How heavy?

If it's lightweight, what about those sideways hitch mounted carriers?

EDIT::Whatever you end up doing, a bike is going to pretty much fill up the bed. What I would worry about with a rrt and a bike in the bed is headroom while loading and unloading. I would not like to be hunched over.

Pic is the only one I can find of a bike in my long bed. The seats and fairings were in the extended cab with me. Yes, the engine was not in the bike, but still, not much room.fdd768bebbbbbef18874061b16f23d86_57812a81d1b9e4ed4a4c1ee3ce89328ec4cb38d7.jpg

Also just realized how much it stuck above the roof.

I have a Reg cab and have the same predicament as you..... I buy/build/sell vinatge bikes as a side hobby, been doing it for years. I have a softtopper and want to buy a rack that will fit over the softtopper but still allow it to fold down if I need to load a bike..... However, the bikes stick up at least 6-12 inches above the cab in some cases :( Let me know what you dig up or end up doing! Tuned in for sure

Got a set up. But the motorcycle bars were too tall to fit the bike under the tent.
