hey everyone i have an 08 tacoma prerunner, double cab, TRD offroad. i am getting a 3" toytec lift but im a little confused on if i need a rear differential drop or if that even exsists...? i dont know if thats only for a 4WD or how exactly it all works. but if someone could give me a little insight on the subject it would be extremely appreciated. THANK YOU!

    getting there....
you have a prerunner...so no diff drop is needed...as its for front diffs of 4x4...and the prerunner doesnt have a front diff.

but it does have the rear locking diff. regardless though wont it wear out by CV joints pretty quick without some sort of drop? just like it would a 4x4?

Locking rear diff is in the REAR where there is a SOLID axle....no CV joints. And the front has no CV joints/axles...Because there is no drive parts up in the front.

So nope. Might need a carrier bearing drop and or axle shims to adjust that rear end angle- but that's different from the front diff drop.
