We are out on our boat almost every nice weather weekend. We are always in the Waccamaw River. It's a lot of fun, but it's a very expensive hobby.

I've had boats my entire life until 7 years ago. I miss the fun sometimes, but I don't miss the money spent - boating is a very expensive hobby.

I'm way happier paying for a boat rental and getting out when I want to, then paying for everything all year round and still only getting out when I want to.

That's all I want to do. Have a nice little sporty openbow. While I like to fish, I'm not that big into it so I could still drop line from something like that. When we lived in Bermuda, my dad had a 32' Bertram for deep sea fishing with outriggers, downriggers, etc. and that was a blast but I don't have the desire to sink that kind of money into a boat. I just want to have fun. :headbang:

Yeah, it gets stupid expensive. Not just the boat, but everything that goes with it...gas, storage, ect.
We keep our boat in dry stack at a marina and that alone is about $225 a month. It's nice though cause I just call and tell them we are going out, they launch the boat, gas it up, and have it ready when we get there. We get done for the day, throw them the rope and they clean the boat and put it away.
