That's worth the $225 all day long.

LOL...That's not me. That was the dealer's mechanic testing and setting up the boat when we bought it.

I don't even know, but it's not much more than at a gas station. We keep a credit card on file and they charge it and send us receipts every month.

Once, I actually filled the boat up at the gas station when I had it at the house and found out that I paid more than I would have at the marina. Damn boat holds 30 gallons.

Yeah buying gas for the boat is always a slap in the face. I only put ethanol free 93 octane in mine @ 3.40 a gallon and my boat has a 125 gallon tank . Offset that by keeping it in my back yard / driveway. It makes the wife happy so I'm not complaining!

We decided when we got the boat that we'd rather pay the storage fee than have the boat out in the weather all the time. If I had a fishing boat, I'd keep it in the neighborhood storage lot, but this Hurricane has a lot of vinyl interior that would not fair well if kept outside.

Yeah I keep the boat covered, but it only has 3 vinyl cushions plus the leaning post. I pop the cushions off and store them in the garage when I cover it to keep the mildew down. Use the boat EVERY weekend though so it may be expensive, but it is fun as hell.

So maintenance wise, is an inboard or outboard better? Or am I talking apples to oranges?

My inboard were always more of a pain and expense to maintain.

    Outboards are/were less expensive.

Yes, outboard is, by far, the best if you plan on EVER running in salt water.

Thanks. I figured as much with as many outboards I see around those parts.

The 17' openbow I had back home that I used at the lakes was an inboard/outboard.

I did a ton of research before we got our boat. I even went to several marine service centers and talked to boat mechanics. Every single one of them told me to get an outboard.

Biggest expense with my outboards were rebuilding the hydraulics that raised and lowered the motor, which wasn't all that bad given it's importance.

Nice. When it's time for a boat, outboard it is! We'll probably start seriously looking around at the end of the year or beginning of next.
