I've seen a couple of them, but the KO2 is more accepted due to it's thicker sidewall. I've never seen the Duratrac in anything thicker than 2 ply, and the KO2 2 ply is much thicker.

Actually all passenger or P tires in KO2's are 4ply, LT's are 6ply load range C, 8ply load range D, and 10ply load range E. Duratracs come in LT only and in 6ply load range C or in 10ply load range E. Most of you guys are going to be buying LT's in a 6ply sidewall. The tread ply isn't the one you will concern yourself with. There are special circumstances with other tires, such as the G/Y At's that came on many of our OR trucks, that may have an SL or XL rating which is a 4 ply, but rated as a C load range with thicker or different materials in the sidewall, making them "more" puncture resistant.

It sucks that we need to be concerned about something that the dealer could take care relatively easy before the vehicle get to the customer...who the heck runs Toyota marketing, are they looking at these posts?

Ya I had the Duratracs in a 265/75R16 10 ply on my 2010 Tacoma, but just hadn't seen them yet on a newer model in the bigger size. I was trying to avoid going and finding the actual measured dimensions of them to compare to the KO2's that I know will fit.

In all honesty, I work for a rather large company that makes big green and yellow tractors. I handle all the warranty claims for the construction/forestry division as a reliability engineer. Toyota has dropped the ball on the trans issue we all know that, however it does take a considerable amount of time/claims for a company to justify sending out a "warranty fix" to every Tacoma to come in for service. While the service may be cheap and quick now, they most likely haven't had any full transmission failures yet. Thus they are comparing the known cost of calling them all in for a service vs the unknown cost of repair/replacement of an unknown number of failures that may or may not occur. I am sure that in the coming months the engineers at Toyota will finish whatever testing they need to do see if the low oil issue will cause an actual failure or if it just results in the "lag" most of us feel. That being said, I for one have never logged onto a big green tractor forum to look for unknown issues like I have for my personal Tacoma.

They should fit equally. Keep in mind that Duratracs actually have less tread width because the profile of the tread is square whereas the BFG has more of a rolled edge, making the dimension wider than the G/Y. You can actually get that size of Duratrac in a 6ply LT, which is what I have on my Pathfinder and they are quieter and ride better than that of the 10 ply. The 6 ply(part # 312018027) also has a softer tread compound than the 10 ply (part # 312034142) which is better for on/off road traction with lighter vehicles like our Tacomas. The 10 ply's don't "mush" as well, but will outlast the 6 ply due to the harder tread compound. We sell a lot of Duratracs and BFG's at our shop, and they both definitely have their place.

One of my obsessions are FPV racing drones. I used one of my racers sitting on the steering wheel and a spare screen/video receiver to keep an eye on the "D" indicator to make sure I stayed within check temp range while I was under the truck

im thinking of buying some new ditch lights from GGlighting.net. i live/ work like 10 mile from them so i will go in and see what they r all about. ive seen some bad reviews but they only say they problems are with them shipping things out, all there product seems to bee good quality once people receive them. im looking at the G3 pods (2500 Lumens ea spot light 300yrd throw on the beam).
