I just did a 2 minute Google browse, and it seems like a good idea to dump it. Extremely insecure, captures personal data, and the server side is known to be vulnerable. What's worse, using an app service that collects your data for sale to others, or that that service's servers are vulnerable to other hacks? We can do without either.

I think ditching it is a no-brainier. Good call @tcBob.

This is another thread that puts me in a happy place. "Oh nos, the internet forum I like doesn't support my app anymore, boo hiss the world is coming to an end. *insert idle I'm leaving threat that no one gives a shit about"

Noooooooo, I love Tapatalk. I used it solely for TW. It was SO handy with the notifications of when someone would quote me. It really helped me be a proactive member of the forum.

That actually seemed useful. I'm hoping whatever app @tcBob has cooked up has notifications.

Agreed. The rest of tapatalk left much to be desired, but the notification side of things was clutch. I may have to mess with my email settings on here and see if I can get something similar going.

The only thing I'll miss is the notifications but if the new app has notifications like TT then I don't see the problem. Hell I only have TT because of TW so I'll just get rid of one app for another, no big deal.

This will be coming to the site.. You'll get a notification when you get an alert, without having to have the site (or even your browser) open. It'll be opt-in/opt-out of course.

We'll also steal a couple of good interface ideas on how Tapatalk presented its list of threads. It let see the last post without having to open or hover over it.

I'm not a big fan of the emails. I get them for 4runners.com and don't know how to turn them off haha. I get enough emails in a day. I don't need to know exactly when I was quoted. I'll see when I log in.

Are you referencing the the desktop version of the site? Or is this with the new app?
