    Been browsing wheels & tires...
Price being lower on 16" vs 17" wheels makes sense but didn't think 16" tires would also be cheaper.

BFG AT in 315/75-16 is $50 less each than a 315/70-17.

Has me thinking I might need 16s instead of 17s. As long as brakes clear, is there a downside to smaller wheel?

Nope. Smaller wheel= less weight and more aspect ratio which = better resistance to bends, and more "existing" side wall when airing down. Plus they're cheaper as you now know.

haha, im sure it will happen sometime soonish

I made the leap to cook with grease. That was their "20 pounder" Looks a little smaller than I expected, but the next stop up was 40# and it wouldnt fit on the cart so, for the jobs I have coming up, I think it will work but I will def trade that in for a 40 or 80 when we get to our next house and I have an actual garage.

Did a little pre-LBL ride through a state park today. Flexed out in a couple of spots and never had any rubbing, so I'm thinking I'm okay.

I actually really like not having my sway bar on. Think I'll just keep it off for good. Just have to get used to not having one now.

So, I only got to spend about 15 minutes trying out the gas set up, and what a difference! why didnt anyone tell me how shitty flux core wire was!!! (jk)

Took time to polish the metal....something I did only once with Flux Core (although I do think it actually made a good difference for that too). Top is the before, bottom is the after.
    Comparison polished metal.jpg

Both cleaned (used a DeWalt 4.5" grinder with a flap disc on it. (I know I didnt get quite all of it polished but I didnt care, they were test runs.)
    Both Polished.jpg

    And the race was on. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .(DCEP)****

    Gas_5.jpg

I will say, I am glad I first tried Flux since it gave me a lot to focus on getting some of the basics down. Im sure the gas welds are no where near perfect but this was all within 15 min of hookin it up and trying it. I still got some kinks to work out with the speed/amps ratio but its getting there.

    Keep critiques coming!
All you guys offering input has def paid off so I thank you.

I think i finally got my drive line vibe figured out. Its as smooth as it's ever been since i lifted. I'd say it's only about 5% present, which I can live with.

On another note..... this is the first time I've pulled this thing out since LBL :anonymous: Time to wash it

Hey guys, dont mean to crash your thread but I am looking for some advice. Coming through Town in June and staying in Chattanooga area for 1 night. Is the Fairfield Inn Lookout Mountain off 24 a good area? Im traveling with family so I want a safe area.

What did you have to do that fixed it? Was it just the spacers or did you have to do something else? (Just wondering cause I think I'm still getting a slight CB vibe with the OME CB drop kit)

I did the home made cb drop kit. I've been basically shimming it down, back up, back down, 180'd, 180'd back, and shimmed with these flat washers i got off of gideon. I put 3* axle shims in back in August when i changed my coils and uca's.

Oh I meant to ask this also. Those with the TA KO2s what kind of tread wear and mileage are you getting out of them? I know what I can expect mileage and wear from Toyo tired but the AT2 toyo's don't look as aggressive as the KO2s.
