Seems the like the 2nd gens are having some bad luck this month. Thought it would be interesting to see how many actually have went down. Feel free to post pics/stories if you'd like.

Also, just want to send my regards to every one that has had some yota' damage. Hope everything works out for all of you and that you didn't receive any injuries other than a broken heart!

    does it count if:
tree branch landed on my hood and left a dent?
i backed into a pole and dented my rear bumper?
someone hit my front bumper flare in a parking lot and took off?

I guess hitting a deer counts as a crash, wasted the bumper cover and driver side headlight. wish i had a steel bumper.

I wouldn't call mine a wreck. I bought my 2007 in Feb '07. In I think Apr '07 I had a deer run into the side and wrinkle the door. I still have those dents, never could bare paying the $500 deductible for that little bit of damage.

Then in July '07, I had a POS key the other side from the front fender all the way back into the passenger side door. I hit it with the touch-up paint just to cover the white mark, but it still looks like shit. Never got that fixed either, again, $500 deductible. That one may be worth fixing though, just because I get pissed every time I see it.

do you have a $500 ded. for your comprhensive coverage? or just for collision? Both of those, hitting the deer and the vandalism, will fall under a comprhensive claim because they are considered "other than collision". Most people have a high collision ded. but a low one for comp.

Comprehensive. But...now that you mention it, maybe it was $250. I honestly can't remember at this point. I actually did get the insurance money for both sides over two years ago in 2007, but I was in the Army at the time and got sent to Korea shortly after that. I sat on it for a little while, and then when my orders to Korea came up, I wasn't really thinking about fixing that damage.

When I got back, I took it to a body shop and got estimates for both sides. They were ridiculous. I think they wanted over $800 for the side with the couple dents from the deer and over $1000 or maybe $1100 for the side with the key mark.

I'd love to at a minimum get the key mark side fixed, but I'd have nightmares of something happening to that side again right after I got it fixed.

my year aint on here, but a wrecked a 1999 TRD Offroad.

It got ambushed, rear ended, involved in a hit and run at school, and keyed. i fixed the rear bumper about 2months before joining TW, everything else i'm slowly doing the body work to. of course now some areas don't have paint

Those things are deadly! It took me all of 300 miles to realize they were coming off immediately.

Black Ice on a country road. Lost the rear end and took out a residential utility pole.

It looks bad but all it touched was sheet metal and plastic. Didn't touch the condenser or anything in the engine bay. Didn't even throw the alignment out.
