I was also looking at the Pro Comp 69 Series and the Ion 71's. All three are pretty similar.

Only issue with the 171's is that they required a spacer because they scraped the brake caliper. I could get the caliper ground down which didn't sound right or get the spacers. I opted for the spacers.

I want to avoid spacers if I can. 16s or 17s?

16's. I wanted to use the existing tires as they aren't ready to be replaced yet. Maybe a poor decision on my part but it was a now or never situation... I'm also avoiding having to lift the truck. I like its height as is.

Also, the tires are rubbing on the body with the spacers (when making hard turns) so I need to have some minor shaving done. No mud flaps.

Finally put some rod holders in. I needed 5 and this was the best solution I could come up with. The odd cut off one does not bother me. It was hitting the light and had to be cut for a flush mount.

No instructions but there are a few threads here that detail the removal process. The install of the new ones is pretty much just the reverse of that.

You do realize that heaps of us have fiberglass front fenders and others also have the bedsides too. This isn't that uncommon of a mod.

Picked up the truck! Wow the reroute and axle dump cut off changed the exhaust note quite a bit. So, not sure what to think about that. Seems to gurgle more but at a higher pitch. Only a dozen miles on it so far so I'm not really sure yet.

I can SEE the ground clearance difference just walking up to the truck though!

    After

Crossover - still using the oem y-pipe. It just got moved back further.

This is for raising rpms for winching and long crawls in 4 low when you need to be working the clutch and brake, and don't have a third foot for throttle. Also long 4 low crawls in the deep snow when I get tired of trying to hold the throttle just barely above stalling so I can keep traction but not dig in. 4 low is not nearly low enough IMO I need crawl gears :turtleride:

The only lube points on a stock Tacoma are on the drive shaft, and some don't even come with those. I highly suggest taking out your LCA bolts one at a time (mark the alignment cams first so you keep your alignment on reinstall) and grease the hell out of them. I'll be cutting mine out and replacing them sometime next month :sawzall::annoyed:

So doesn't the Mobil 1 bottle itself. Just cut one in half, and use it as a funnel for the others.

I'm guessing that the point of using the juice bottle is so that you don't have to be as careful to not spill any precious drop of Mobil 1until you can cut the bottom of the bottle. Just my SWAG though.
