What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

they are 265/70/17s that im looking at as thats the largest i think i can go with 7" wide rims correct? that would be great if no spacer is need would save me some money lol...

 

1st gen Tacomas are some of the only vehicles I see people buy with well over 200K on them. Or at least the only ones still running and ready to use for more than parts.

 

i bought mine with 229k on mine for $4500 even thought i had to replace the suspension completely..

 

Yeah mine is in great condition too. Paint is great, interior seems untouched, and engine runs smooth. I know several people who have had tacomas with 400k+ on them and still run great. Timing belts and water pump are the only thing they had to replace

 

Pulled my axles. Gonna drop them off to have the bearings replaced since I failed so hard. The drivers side looks like it had some water in it.

 

is that rust or just dirt?

depends on the tire, i had 265s that only had about 1/8th of an inch between the tire and the upper a arm.

Did the chalk test on my tires. I pretty much had them set spot on, but the warmer weather lately put me over slightly. 34 front & 32 rear is ideal for my setup. Such an easy test, everyone should do it for on-road tire PSI.

 

What's the chalk test? I typed it into the search but it's only mentioned by a lot of people, can't find a how-to...

Interesting. You've got a plate bumper among other mods, and I'm stock. But you've also got the 4cyl while I've got the V6. I wonder how our tires differ, in regards to their innate pressure requirements.

 

I have e rated BFGs ko2s they are a bit stiff so pressure may be less

 

Ah that may be. I've got Grabber AT2s. Their rating is just listed as SL, which doesn't really tell me much. But yours support higher PSI and weight, so I'd say you're right.
