I put between 5-6 pumps in all of mine this past weekend. I started thinking to myself "these could not have been dry" but then came to the realization that the grease coming out was the same color as whats in the tube.:confused:

Not under powered.... but the power range is a little high in the rpm band.

I noticed that if you switch to manual shift when you are stopped (with an AT), the truck is in 4th gear and that's what it starts in from a standstill. It will take you forever to get up to speed unless you do put some umph on the accelerator. Highway seems to just want to hold on to that 6th gear too long.

I added the black myself to match the XP badging. The inlay was from a local sign shop.

What's the long thing on the roof, is that for midair refueling?

    Good looking truck.

Actually, I'm glad you mentioned that. I was wondering because I used a synthetic blend (which is a deep purple in color), and after a few pumps on the first and second zerks, red grease started seeping out a couple of the joints, then immediately turned purple. It was only a dab though - consistent with what would ship from Spicer. Thus, nothing was added at the factory.

Try hitting the ECT PWR button (beneath the hvac controls). That's a great way to give your rig a lot more giddyup.

What brand/model shell is that? If I ever bought one, that would be it.

I was wondering the same. First glance, thought it might be an awning, but it seems like that would exert a ton of upwards pull on the rear crossbar.

That's wrong, if you flick over to S on the gear shift it limits UP TO 4th gear, it doesn't put the truck in that gear, it still changes 1st,2nd,3rd,4th then stays in 4th.

I'm not very happy with the transmission in these trucks, it just seems crude.

If I'm at slow speed in traffic and lightly touch the accelerator to move forward the engine revs up then jolts forward when the torque converter locks, it's uncomfortable. This morning I noticed 2nd - 3rd gear change slips (engine RPM goes up slightly). The gearbox is changing into as high gear as possible as quickly as possible even though I'm trying to get up to speed so requires more throttle.

I have a print out that my truck was 1 quart low and it was filled so that's not the issue there... Well, I didn't watch them do it as they had it overnight so can I be 100% sure they did it? Unfortunately not, but this piece of paper states it.

Hmmmm, don't think so. I defaults to 4th while in motion or stopped. You can then either downshift, or upshift from there. Or if you hold it in any gear, it skips all the way to 6.

Unfortunately that is not "manual shifting"... It's a gear limiter... Once you switch to sport mode, you can decide what would be the highest gear the transmission would hit... The default is 4.

They probably didn't change it.... I had a similar issue, but once my transmission was filled to the right level all issues disappeared and it's shifting properly now. You may want to have another dealer check it.

Did you get an alignment done yet? What numbers should we aim for? I read A LOT on 2nd gen Tacomas but have not been able to find the numbers for 3rg gen with Kings kit.
