    Doesn't that defeat the purpose of running new wire? You have the potential to flow more current with the 16ga then bottle neck it again using the smaller stock wiring harness.

    This is a temporary fix to run the new speakers. Once I have the 5ch amp, sub and enclosure, not to mention TIME... then the crossovers will be installed for the front components AND new speaker wire will be ran to the 5ch amp.... catching my drift here?

    Not sure if you misunderstood the build here. I'll try to lay it out easier....

    Factory HU -> Factory Amp -> AudioControl LC6i -> 5ch Amp -> new JBL speakers & sub

    I thought about taking out the factory amp but it became known to me that with the 'factory JBL' setup, I must retain the 'factory JBL amp' this is all per @Mr Marv

    Curious what everyone is running for their Amp wiring kit? What gauge? Size fuses?

    I didn't want to mess with running zero guage wire through the firewall and down the side of the truck. It is just so hard to work with. I also wanted to be able to pull an individual fuse for either amp.

    Depends on your current needs. Too big is okay with wiring - just don't go too small.

    For fusing and other things - minding efficiency of course.

    Wel actually I looked up the specs for both the lc6i and the amp thinking they both need 4g wire but it's just the amp that needs the bigger gauge. The lc6i says it can take 12-18g. I was going to run 4g from battery to the cab, then put a distribution block to split the 4g. 1 way to the amp, and the 2nd way to the lc6i. Not sure how I could step down from 4g to 12g.

    I just ran a small power wire off the amps power input over to my signal processor....works fine. You could also run a power wire from the 12v constant off your harness and run that to your lc6i along with the speedwire. You definitely do not need a distribution block for it at all. You are overcomplicating it big time. The lc6i doesn't need any big power at all.

    I'm not using speedwire at this time. Maybe I'll have to when I cut open the stock amp to bridge the speaker wires from the stock amp to the lc6.

    Man I'm an idiot! I keep forgetting the jbl thing...Yeah just take a piece of 12 guage wire and run it off your amps power input.

    Hah. Thanks for rubbing it in guy. I know I'm like the only one on here upgrading from the JBL lol. Someone has to be the first.

    Also, got 2 packs of RAAMaudio bxt ii in the mail today. Shipping was fast, price was great. Emailed Jason for a TW discount code. I hope to get started on it this weekend/next week when I have time off from work. But I think I will just start with the doors for now. The rest of the interior (floor, back wall, roof) will have to wait til I get more items in for the stereo and can do the wiring at the same time.

    You are having Mr Marv build you your box right? He told me not to do sound deadner behind the box to make sure they can sit as far back as possible. Talk to him to make sure I'm right because I know he was making some adjustments to the box design. If I would have put deadner behind them on the wall or on the floor the boxes would have not fit right. I actually only put deadner on the middle of the back wall between the two ribs.

    I swear to you though, running the power wire for your lc6i off the amps power input signal works great. I have had no issues and I'm running my zxsum8 that way.

    Sure you can. If it is good enough to power a multichannel amp then it can power a little ol lc6i
