No idea. Best guess will be a week once all the parts are in (week and a half max), unless we can find a second set of headlights to run while working on the other. It'll be my first time attempting. From everything I've researched, you want a couple days for the paint to cure/dry out all the way so you avoid having further down the road. Some people reported hazing up to 6 months later in another thread. Rush jobs don't let the paint cure all the way and as it off-gasses, it leaves a haze on the inside of the lens (not moisture). It's easy to clean off with glass cleaner or alcohol, but you have to take the headlight apart to do it. I'd be pissed if I paid $1k for headlights and that shit happened.

I'm sure I can do all the other work in one day, disassemble, modify, reassemble. But letting the paint dry and being patient is what will take time.

I've been looking for a set just to try it out. Most I've seen are right around $180-250, but tend to be on the other side of the country. Shipping kills the savings. I just want to try doing it so whatever you want to get, feel free. Shit, get me some Hyundai headlights if you want and we'll figure something out.:D

So here's why I want to try it:
So many people have retros and they are awesome. I'd like a set too, but can't justify the money for it. Even building them yourself (if you have the above mentioned huevos) will cost you about $500-600 just for parts not including the housings. That shit is pricey. The new member that popped up is offering to do the heavy lifting of the actual assembly which is awesome because that's the hard part, but you still have to buy the bulbs/ballasts. So they still tend to be out of the affordable range of most people on here. I want to see what all the fuss is about since most people seem to be intimidated by the project, but the few people that have done it say it's not that hard once you get in there, you just have to be patient and take your time. I can do that. People that know me, know I'm very anal about my shit so I'm not going to fuck around with it. I'll do the best damn job I can, but we both run the risk of something going wrong since I've never done it before (you more than me). You'll lose money if something goes wrong, (hopefully not). And really the worst thing that can happen to me is you call me an asshole and tell people not to let me touch their trucks. Totally understandable, I'm just looking at this from all sides and being honest. But if you're brave enough to let me try, I'm in.

Thats my problem with retrofits, I can not justify spending that much especially when there so much other shit to buy in that price range.

That's y I trust you man. You don't do shoddy work, nor want to. It's somthing I was potentially thinking of doing myself in the far future lol. But yeah it will be a fun project. And I think they will turn out fine. Little mistakes can be fixed, not worried. I'm gonna look for some lights when I get home
