Not a very popular lift, but I'm looking into this and wondering:

    1. How does the ride compare to OME 882's with 5100's (or Nitrochargers)
    2. How does the ride compare to Eibach/Billys? Stiffer, as stiff, or softer?
    3. What struts are you using? 5100's or other?
    4. Do you need new UCA's? Do they give you more down travel? Or can you get away with stock?
    5. Have they sagged on you since installing?
    6. What are you running in the rear (leaves and shocks)?
    7. How much lift did they give you? Have you added a spacer or preloaded the 5100's? How does that ride?

Thanks for any answers to any numbers.

you may have posted this in the wrong forums? I didn't think the Tundra coils fitted on the 2nd (& 3rd) Gen Tacoma's.

Many people have used the 1st Gen Tundra coils on the 1st Gen Tacoma/3rd Gen 4Runner.

This is a general suspension forum for all gen. Tacoma's, no? I have a 1st gen. Tacoma. I put that in my title and it's also in my profile.

I am asking about using 1st gen. Tundra coils on a 1st gen. Tacoma.

I have a hard time believing they would ride very good. I've owned a 1st gen Tundra and have changed front shocks. They take quite a bit more effort to compress the springs with my spring compressors. 1st gen Tacoma springs compress much easier.

The ride would have to be terrible or you would need one heck of a plate bumper with winch to make it ride decent.

I know its not your original question but its all I can offer.

This is actually a very popular set-up for 4runners. Some people have done it on Tacoma's as they are almost the same front end, though somewhat lighter. But there are not a ton of threads created by Tacoma users.

I wasn't trying to create a debate about whether or not this 'could' be a good idea. I just wanted opinions from those that have actually done it.

    No worries on the debate.

If the Runner group are doing this, then I see no reason why you can't do it with a Tacoma. They are pretty much the same front ends.

It seems every one hear wants to spend the long dollar and go after market coils and shocks. Seems some Tundra take off shocks would be very cost effective.
