Fallout 4

R9 390. I didn't want to deal with the 970 issues. That card should tide me over until the next Pascal release or AMD in a few years. I'm not buying the first year of nVidia's 10xx series cards. The price is jacked in Canada.

 

I tend to stay away from AMD and their driver issues. I'll stay on Team Green.

I have a Titan Black @ home and a 960 at work. I don't plan on upgrading unless the daughter wants a PC and I'll hand my current setup to her. However, I think a Titan + 16GB RAM is a little much for just watching American Girl videos on YouTube.

 

You also get free nVidia gear IIRC. Kind of makes that argument moot .

I go with whoever makes what I need. I've had no issues with my R9 390 at this point and to be fair nVidia has slipped IMHO as of late. The 970 pissed off a lot of people. 1/8th of the memory was faulty, even though nVidia is still trying to deny that, and it really knocks the cards performance in large world games. Since I play a lot of RTS and Skyrim on PC... the AMD card was my only solid choice in the price range.

My last card was a GTX 680. Great card but it started to show its age. I'll upgrade just the card in this rig in two years. I'll choose whoever is making the best card in my budget at that time as well with the edge to nVidia if their cards are testing perfect.

Back to Fallout 4 are the PC guys having any of these issues?

 

Prefect ending obtained! Jeez that felt like it took forever, now to get all my settlements back and link them up to build defense turrets

 

How many settlements are in Far Harbor? I have 4.

I have two. I know where a third is but for some reason I can't build there.

 

Which one?

 

I keep running out of shit in far harbor. There doesn't seem to be enough ammo for these higher level enemies nor building materials for well defended settlements.

 

I can't remember the name but it's the outpost with the landmines front and back.

Visitor center? You need to talk to the bartender in Far Harbor. Need to to the quest to get his uncle back then you can have that settlement.

 

I already have my settlements linked up to the mainland. Too bad they are running out of the crap I need to. I don't want to have to fast travel back just to grab some screws and drop them off at the nearest settlement.

 

How are you guys dealing with the high amount of rads in Far Habor? Leaded Armor?

 

I haven't even had a chance to bootup FO4 in weeks.

 

The rads in Far Harbor is always <1 so it's not that bad.

 

Rad X plus I maxed out the Rad Resist perk before starting

 

I'm having issues being able to find / buy enough ammo in Far Harbor but with my Far Harbor settlements linked back to my Commonwealth ones , I'll never run out of building materials

 

^ yup, me too. For ammo, I just head back to the Commonwealth and load up, check on settlements, etc.
