I am looking to upgrade my 2015 Tacoma stock non-JBL speakers with kicker 6 x 9, 4 channel Kicker AMP and 6 1/2 kicker rear speaker. Anyone do anything in that nature?

Why am I going with kicker, I am going with kicker because they have been in the game for a long time and its a name I trust. I am not at this time getting the 6.5 rear speakers just the front with a 4 channel amp.

Which line of kicker? I personally don't like them at all.

OK not a bad idea. Just make sure that you get an amp that matches the power for your speakers and that will be a good start. Honestly i would go to a local car toys and play with their sound rooms and find some speakers that you like. Alpine type Rs are nice. Polk audio has good highs.. The 6x9s are good for midbass so that will help. Paper cones have been proven to give some of the best sound, if not the best sound. Component speakers come with a crossover to split the signal between highs and lows, making sure your tweeters are not getting any bass signals, and etc.

Did you have a specific series of kicker speakers in mind?

I was original going to go with some polk audio components that were moderately priced, however i decided i wanted to pay too much money for some high quality speakers. It went from $140 a set to $500 a set. So a huge jump in price but the quality difference is a huge jump also!

Ehh I didn't like the Type R. The polks were OK I guess but as you said only highs were good

I just saw you posted what speakers you found... Are you trying to keep the stock tweeters? Also you will need some door speaker adapters.

I honestly think you will enjoy some component speakers much more! Kicker amps are good, and their solo baric subs are good, but i have not heard anyone giving praise to kicker door speakers...

Sound dampener, proper mounting for speakers, and a clean sound signal will go a long way in the sound quality also! Ive personally swapped out the speakers in cars before and any amp and speakers will make the sound louder, but not necessarily better. It sucks when you spend money and time doing something only to find that it doent do what you want.

Do you have a budget for the door speakers, or are you just wanting to get a trusted brand?

Either way its your ride and please do whatever will make you happy and satisfied with your truck.

Personally that is why i decided to go with Hybrid Audio speakers. It was a huge jump in price but i wanted good mid bass and quality highs to go with the 2 subs i have. I dont want my subs to drown out the rest of my sound. Also the reason why i got a Digital Sound Processor...

I am getting everything installed on the 1st of June. I found the kicker on Crutchfield and they had good reviews. Plus like one member said I kinda trust the brand, but maybe i need to rethink my idea. the series kicker speaker I was looking at was CS Series CS6934 with the matching amp CX300.4.

Not trying to be a Dick or anything but normally those reviews are from people who have never had any other speakers so they think that those are amazing which in all honestly they are not

Well unless you get the Walmart speakers that are like 40 bucks then they may even be worse than OEM
