I just picked up the rhino rack sunsetter which I think may actually be made by the same co that makes the fox wing. Inliked the idea of the fox wing but ultimately looked like kind a PITA, so I stuck with simple pull out style.

So, I talk to the hubby... and put it in our calendar (so he can't make other plans ). It is definitely a 'GO' so long as my husband isn't on call that day! We will be in our stock '97 T4R Limited... Any special items we may need (i.e.: tires ... ours are 'all terrain' atm...)? We have tow straps, jumper cables (god forbid), and a hand winch with ropes...
P.S: Are we meeting for breakfast first, or just at the Belfair Safeway @ 10am?

 

The only issue you may POSSIBLY have is if you haven't removed your running boards. You may smack them on some roots or rocks.

Does your 4Runner have the rear diff locker? If so you won't need anything else. Even if it doesn't have it, you'll be fine.

 

I do have Rear Diff Lock... About the running boards... They've taken a beating so far... Not worried about damaging them, unless they damage something more necessary in the process... Body damage is not a concern. I got it from an owner in Cali... it got stabbed in the hood with it's previous owner down there (I didn't ask ?'s).

 

With the rear diff lock and some all terrains you'll out-wheel most of these lifted Tacomas that are still rolling open diffs.

If they're already beat up and you don't use them I'd recommend taking them off before you hit something that pushes them up into your rocker panels.

 

I use them to get in/out of my T4R. I don't have the place or the tools...

 

I could ask one of my techs at my work that Friday before to remove them... Then have them re-install on Monday!
I can't believe with how exhausted I am that I thought that one up!

 

That would work- it's very simple. I think I did it in about 20 minutes when I first got my 4Runner.

How tall are you?? I cannot imagine using a step to get into a stock 97 limited.

 

I am 5'6"... I have health conditions that make it difficult for me at times though... I'll just use the oh-shit handle!

Hope you have better much than me, after spending hours making one fit my dash decent I think I fried it with a bad antenna coax? I get reception but only occasionally. During a recent long drive on I-5 I picked up on only two discussions.

 

Well after all that headache with Prinsu design about getting my rack and him not getting back to my messages I decided to build my own. $300 in anodized extruded aluminum tube and stainless fastners, I came up with this.... I even saved myself about $200 difference if I would have purchased his. Super low profile that allows me to fit in the parking garage at work. After my 255's come in in hope it will be low enough that I clear it. I'll have to take measurements tonight at some low points in the garage. Don't want to take out a sprinkler. Lol unless I want that carwash.
