yeah, they wont find out the truth. /sarcasm

I have a 16 truck in right now (not toyota) that the customer is footing the bill. Rodent damage to some fuel lines. Its not hard to figure out if something has been damaged due to normal use.

OP settled, not a toyota problem now. Like pleading out for murder/manslaughter and then trying to appeal it. Not going to happen.

For the 600th time. I wasn't free riding into the surf, I wasn't close to the water line. Close in proximity but not riding it.

The expedition was stuck close to the water line and didn't want to see him and his kids swamped. I Tugged him out, and he got stuck again (4x4 broken) so when I turned Around to pull him from the front wave came up higher on the beach then it had been and hit my pass side.

Freak occurrence. I didn't take my 41k dollar truck swimming in the ocean... I won't even swim along that shoreline. Entirely way too rough.

The over-filling of gas will have no affect of the pump/intake fuel filter, it's the charcoal evap cannister that gets messed up.... it throws a code as well.

ive read the thread and been to pismo many times, if you're close enough to get hit with a wave, you're entirely too close.

Pretty much this. If you're driving through the sand thats wet at all, you run the risk of getting hit by a wave. Love seeing the guys driving through the water at the edge, then see the ones stuck at the edge.

    I notice a badge on your avatar/info.

There is no way you're a cop. To think to yourself what you just said is one thing, but to be a law enforcement officer and actually type it in public is concerning. :smack:

I know that. My bro is a THP sergeant (TN) . He's a fun and down to earth as can be, but would never 'say' something that in public. ;)

The inside of your fuel door had sand inside it. You said that was the case and there is no way on this earth that sand gets past the Toyota fuel door by natural means, no way.

That doesn't happen naturally. Same as sand grains INSIDE the fuel neck as documented by the tech. Take the insurance settlement and be happy, Toyota did nothing wrong. Someone vandalized your truck no matter how many ways you try to deny it.

Just saying, I went to the desert and did some off roading. I had tons of sand behind the fuel door afterwards. Tons. Everything behind that door was completely covered.

All I could think about was this thread when I undid that gas cap and filled my tank. But all was good.

Dust and sand gets past fuel doors all the time. They aren't water or air tight.

The filter neck had dust and a few specks of sand in it, which most likely came from the cap as I opened the cap. Shouldn't be enough to harm anything.

The only possible place anyone could of put sand in my tank was at the hotel. However I as up very late and it was parked literally outside my window. Highly unlikely that people in Pismo are going around targeting random peoples vehicles.

My thoughts are had someone actually put sand in my gas tank it would have disabled the truck Far before the car wash. The way the truck died and the symptoms of a failing fuel system do not at a add up to what actually happened

Filler neck of my capless ford focus. There's sand and dust in there.. and I didn't clean off anything before I put the gas in, this was taken after I drove home.

The car was on the beach, got stuck, got burried, and left literally parked on the beach and used as a wind break for some other campers for 3 days. Zero issues. Lol
