    Hey thanks!

It was intended for my own filter selection, then I posted on a forum, then it snowballed as I had filters being sent to me from all over US and Canada to get looked at.
Finally, I had to say enough. I collected 4, 30 gallon trash bags of filter guts and 3-4 gallons used test oil to clean up my little workshop!
I still have about 25 test tubes left over and most were reused multiple times. I ran a lot of these tests over and over... but only photo'ed the highlights.

    :)

Toyota owns Denso. It's a Denso if it's like OEM and not the TRD version.
    (AC/Delco is completely different.)
The Toyota/Densos in all these tests were a 90915-YZZD1s.

You can also buy a Toyota TRD filter from the dealer parts counter if you specifically ask for it. (or order it online) These vary by manufacturer and design, but the PTR43-00080 I use on my truck, is very similar to the K&N and Royal Purple filters and is US made.
I did not test any TRD filters, but my part number says on the box that it is 98% efficient @ 20 microns. I expect these TRD to filter better than the OEM standard filter and still have good flow characteristics...but they cost quite a bit more, too.

Consistantly did excellent. Seems to be a strong correlation between these filtration tests and factory rated efficiency--when you can get factory ratings.
These tests were more to indicate the relative filtration on those filters that don't give any meaningfull info.
A lot of types say "great quality and excellent filtration" but don't give any SAE ot ISO test efficiency at specific micron particle size, nor specify multipass or single pass testing.

Example is the Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil filters. Their site says 99.2% efficient---at what? golf ball size particles? It tells you nothing useful at all. Just marketing hype.
It turns out this filter does pretty well in the tests, but their website sure doesn't tell you that.
