What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

do you have tc uca's? Mine have been squeaking real bad lately too, gonna throw more superlube on the bushings soon, been putting it off

 

I have TC but not installed haha. But after I sprayed some WD-40 it went away for now. I'll check tomorrow.

Also I cleaned my MAF sensor and Throttle body because I found the correct cleaners in my truck stuff. Had a super high idle until about the 3rd start up after some driving. Went back to normal now

 

Alright guys ready for the most commonly asked question on here?

I just need to beat back my wheel well and pinch weld and maybe do a timy bit of trimming to fit 33's at full bump/lock right?

 

do you have stock wheels? if so then I think you will need wheel spacers to not rub the frame at full lock or wheels with proper backspacing. might just be with 285s though, Ive seen that skinnier tires can clear fine. Also might rub your UCA if its stock, mine is VERY close with my total chaos UCAs

just reread didn't see you said "stock"

 

depends on width and backspacing. 12.5s need a little finessing to be completely rub free and are known to rub the washer fluid reservoir.

Ok you CB experts, what's the best location to mount an antenna, center of the bed or side? I've seen conflicting info on it.

 

roof, then hood. everywhere else sucks.

 

x2 Hood is a little easier to do than the roof tho. Ground plane, ground plane, ground plane.

 

My whip works awesome. But then again it's a 102" whip..

 

Maybe, to do it right, you need to pull the coil over and set the truck down gently on the bumpstop, then cycle the steering if you can and see what rubs.

 

I dont have the tools to do that unfortunately. I was thinking i would trim the stuff thats obviously rubbing and smash it back then put some chalk inside the wheel wells and flex it out then see where the wheels rub the chalk off

 

You'll prolly be fine that way. Take the tire off at least so you can get a good whack at it with the bfh.

Yes, up and down. Not side to side.

Yes, the adjuster requires a 4 or 5 mm socket.
