Tapatalk sucked after the last "update" I couldn't just browse the forum... could only look at things in my "feed" or that I've subscribed to... constantly gave me alerts that didn't exist... ie "ebbs15 had 5 private messages in the Colorado BS thread"... uh... what?

Make sure you mention the TW discount in the order notes/instructions. After you place the order you'll get a full price email confirmation...then they will confirm back with a paid invoice showing the TW discount of 25% and free shipping...took about 45 mins for me.

We usually hit Black Canyon for our overnight if we're making it a 2 day down to that area. I also see signs for NF access to the south when you hit the bottom of the canyon after Blue Mesa on 50, but have yet to have a chance to go explore it (867 I think it is). There's also a campground at Cimarron, and of course the various ones at Blue Mesa. Ridgeway just seems like you're pretty much there anyway to me, but it could let you take Imogene over into Telluride instead of the highway. Or you could camp in the Ouray area and do that. We happened to come down Imogene passing through Telluride year before last during the jazz festival. You can hear that music a long way off.

Would definitely want to make sure you could get through if you went this route. There's been a couple years recently where it didn't open until really late.

Yeah, we actually want to be 'almost there' because we are volunteering and our first shift will be at noon the next day. Just want to see a little more of our beautiful state on the way! How is Imogene? Think it would be any trouble for a stock Tacoma?

8" KINGS in the rear? With what you have planned there you could go with a 12" or 14".

    Yes.
My bad, was thinking the 12" kings, and wrote 8" which I was looking at for my current setup. :)

Also note that your spring choice will be limiting your travel. It's not horrible but you would get more with a set of Alcans or a set of 63" springs. Although with the 63"s you would have to redo your front mounts too.

    Yes.
I've toyed with doing the 63" spring kit. I'm not sure I love that the front hanger hangs down further when you put that kid in place. The stock front hanger is almost flush with the frame in front of it, and that's one area my truck regularly hits ledges in Texas.

The other problem I've had is finding a reliable source for 63" springs that will actually fit. Most likely because the kit doesn't make it clear exactly what I should look for.

I spoke with a few different people, with a total of over 40 years experience in the Offroad industry, and they all said go with a spring setup like what AllPro sells.

Unless you want crazy down travel, or have custom, specific needs, going with a "kit" like what AllPro sells is a simple and effective solution.
