Same winch I have. I'm 90% sure I have some 2awg wire left over if you plan to relocate the solenoid. Might not be enough for all four cables but least two of them. Same I think I have extra terminals too. If ya want measure up how long you need and I can make me up and get them to ya with that tail light.

 

haha.. yeah unfortunately the gas ones arent available. They had the black ones as well, and they said it was for water only, but yeah, idk if you could. I will either pick up another water one.. or a rotopax gas one.

oh wow! I know how you feel. I am terrible at math! but the passion and skills are there nonetheless. I started going to school for Graphic Design.. but quickly lost interest since it was all computer based. I loved drawing, sketching, working with my hands, etc. now... I just got lucky and got my foot in the door, now everything I've learned over the last 2 years is all thanks to hands on experience. trying to make a career now.

Got mine for $200... came off a wreaked truck, has cracks, leaks water, but fixable. Hard to complain about for that price. You'll find a good deal, just might take awhile.

I'd be very surprised if the tanks are different, and expect it's mostly a spout issue. They'll likely have to produce something like rotopax's eco spout. I'll have to do more research.

Getting your foot in the door is the key, glad to hear you're taking advantage of the opportunity.

It's exciting work, can't complain. But I sure get my fill of sitting in front of computers all week. The truck build offers a pinch of tactile balance, but what I need most is a week off the grid.

How do you like it? I shopped around for awhile but kept going back to it. I figured that with an extension and 3 snatch blocks it'll do just about anything. Thanks for the cable offer I had planned on going overkill with 1/0 as I'm using it for a bunch of other stuff. Might still be interested in it for another project though, I'll let you know!

 

I hear that.. I'm lucky enough to have multiple works stations.. always moving and doing something with my hands.. or modeling something in Solidworks for my "computer" time. so much better than my previous desk job.. 8 hours at a computer is hell.. never again.

 

I agree, I do programming work and it sucks being inside all the damn time, i love when i get to work on the truck or other projects. We have some ponds behind our office thinking of getting some RC boats, and race them during the day just to get out more.

 

I'll sell you mine for a good price, haven't used it in a few years. Used to go 60mph, just needs new batteries

 

You can drop some serious coin on some of those RC boats. A buddy of mine used to be real into them, he was always tinkering with it and buying extra parts to sup em up. I think he spent more time fixing it then actually racing it

 

sounds like my truck... although it's less fixing it and more so modding, still have yet to get her dirty this year. Lots to do before this years trips, then it's game on!

I was also bit by the RC bug as a kid, probably the first money pit I got myself into. Easily spent every dollar I ever made mowing lawns which added up fast. Raced at the local events and had a blast.

I totally forgot that I have a boat in a box somewhere, that would be fun to get going again and hit some ponds. Always wanted a plane but decided to stay away from that one, instead I watch the guys at Marymoor park. Some of those builds are straight up insane.

I just got back into the RC scene the beginning of the year as well. bought a Slash 4x4 and have already been modding it.. lol

Guy I went through to get a firearm related item had a crap ton of RC stuff. Had a small 1 car garage. Half of it was RC stuff and the other half was gun stuff lol. His kid was out when i met up with him rebuilding a buggy. Had new shocks, tires, struts, all sorts of parts for it. He took out another truck they had. Said it would go 80 on a straight but they could only get it to 50 on their street. Was pretty impressive seeing that.

You mean the m8000? Ive been happy with it. Only used it for actually winching the truck out once or twice. But used it a decent amount pulling logs/bushes/other crap and its worked just fine.

I might end up with a good amount of 1/0 left over too. Bought some "end of roll" 1/0 from home depot that was 45'. Not sure how much Ill actually use but i doubt itll be all of it lol. Got it for my dual battery setup Ill eventually do when i stop being lazy
