ok so after having read a few things of this site and TTORA.com . I want to see if anyone has any doner part to help convert a 2wd prerunner into a 4wd

Here is a list of parts that you will need:
    1. 4x4 tranny w/t-case and shifter
    2. front diff w/ front mount & mounting brackets
    3. spindles/hubs
    4. cv axles
    5. front d-shaft
    6. 4X4 Rear D-shaft (it's about 11 inches shorter than the 2WD)
    7. Transmission Mount on crossmember (2WD is different)
    8. Floor shifter plate (you can try to cut yours but I found it easier to just get a 4WD one)
    9. 4WD shifter boots (one is rubber that goes under the truck and the other is fabric for the interior)
    10. Interior plastics
    11. Speed sensor (some 4WD trannys dont come with one)
Now I don't hae have much$$$.... so, it may take me sometime to get all the part but if my promise to this site is If I can get all the parts I will post a how to step by step with pics for everyone to follow... Now It hing this well go alot somther if I can get all the part from like an 2000-2003 preruner 4wd....

    What do you all thing????????????

wait... whats a doner? that like a boner for women?

anywho, might have some issues in this economy to find folks willing to donate parts and if going through the trouble of the conversion, why not drop the extra cash and do a solid axle front?

oh, dont forget, if you decide to upsize your tires, you will want to regear front and rear differentials...

Words are words and opinions are like as$%#%^& or so someone once told me... I think you guys should just let bye gones be just that it besides neither one of you guy is better than the other… so just drop the whole thing.............. I mean the whole reason why sites like this one are made is to share info, ideas, thought or what have you…. as well as to grow so, it all started with and opinion and him being set in his ways.... so maybe he pick or use the wrong words to express himself bottom line is that he has gain some new knowledge and had the chance to express his opinion....having said that can't we all just get along "lol"

good job... ifit helps any at first I thought the conversion was crazzy but that was do to the lack of info and when I would ask people would tell me just what you said it would cost so much so just buy a new one but as time has gone by..... I guess that has change and the truck is payed off so $1000-$1400 is better than getting into another car loan riht now don't you think so john???

Once again, Being as the Prerunner is a 4x4 chasis without the 4x components, its a much better value to do the change from Prerunner to 4x4 than to get into another loan. All the holes are alredy in the frame for the stuff to mount up, the spindles are the same, everything. If given plenty of time to source the parts, it can be less expensive mod than a new suspension.

Jesus, if you wanna do it, I say go for it. I think it would be a bad ass project to do. All the facts and information is right here in front of you. Dont listen to Johnv, he just refuses to believe someone can do this themselves. Yes it will probably take your whole weekend, but thats the fun of modding your truck.
