Is the 3rd gen worth it?

Had A 15 for a year 23k miles loved it. 16 year old son talked me into trading it in on a 16 trade in was $100 more than I paid for it tacomas hold value like nothing else.. Not really a car or truck guy other than moving stuff for people I am absolutely amazed at the attention I get in this truck. There is a whole world out there I knew nothing about.. Had it for two months so far and still everyday people are watching me in intersections and talking to me at stop lights, this never happened in my 15. My son is king of the parking lot at school... I really had no idea that trucks drew this much attention..Heck even my wife says "that is a sexy truck" that is literally why I actually bought it at the dealer.
In the 16 the transmission searching does drive me nuts as much as I don't want to admit it...It seems slow in first and second gears but 3rd pushes me back and takes offff more than the 15 did. The refinements of the 16 interior are very nice upgrades from last year and its silly but I love the thickness of the tailgate it just seems tougher. Did a Kelly blue book check of value on it last night and trade in value is higher than I paid.
Overall I am very happy with this 16 Tacoma and very happy that I traded in the 15 for it

Yes it's worth it. I traded a 15' dcsb trd sport for my 16'trd or. took me a bit to get use to it. But I have really grown to love my truck.

They had to really work for that trade to get me out of my 15. But they did it. Mine was not mint either. Had scratches from the trails, big dent in the skid plate and 40k miles

Imo, it's actually not that big a deal for mt. But I can understand the plight of automatics with gear hunting combined w loss of low end torque. I've also noticed more power curve passing 8k clicks. Both 2nd & 3rd are great trucks.

Honestly I think it's worse with a manual. The lack of tractability makes shifting ALL THE TIME necessary, unless you want to drive around at 4,000 RPM all the time.
