That's what I start realizing is my $33000 will be hard to get unless it's an SR5.

Ordered my 7568 in Quicksand with Tech, towing, and mudguards 04/23 and was told itd take about 4-10 weeks. I was OK with this. 4 weeks passed by.. No word so I contacted the dealership. I was told it'll be another 2-5 months before they BUILD it because the assembly line has to be changed... I'm stuck with this dealership. I am getting the truck for $600 below invoice due to a rebate. I had them at $100 above invoice prior to rebate. My rebate expired 5/10/16 because I graduated 5/10/14 but they will still honor the price they committed to.

By this time 2017s will be getting ready to be built...:annoyed: hopefully it's only a 2 month wait instead of 5 month...

This isn't dealer specific though. That's what he was making his discount sound like.

Correct, so it's not dealer specific, it's from Toyota. The thing with the rebate is that you have a two year span... My two year ended on May 10th, 2016... If I go any other dealer I will not qualify to my knowledge. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't see why that would matter. I would contact Toyota financial and see what they say. I'm sure that they have the ability to make adjustments if you have been waiting for a truck to become available. I would check with them and then move on from that dealer. It sounds as though they are waiting for a truck to become available in their allocation so they can modify it and place the order hence no order info. If they had the truck in allocation an estimated build date should be at least available. (I never wanted to know this much about this stupid process)

Is that the only reason that you are staying with this dealer and waiting on an ordered truck, because of the rebate?

If you want the truck bad enough, go to another dealer and tell them what you are looking for and consider buying from inventory. At this point in the model year, they will deal more with what's on their lot because they want to move vehicles.

Explain your dilemma about the rebate. I'll bet that they WILL make it work. It's worth a try!

    Best of luck to you

This particular dealer has the same EXACT truck I want but not in a long bed. .. That's something that I'm set on. I've searched various dealers in a 500 mile area using various websites but I haven't been able to find what I am looking for.

If the exact truck is somewhere else and they're willing to sell it for the same price as this dealer is gladly switch knowing that the order would be filled. Ugh.

So looking at a new '16 right now. Couple questions for you guys: are the '17's coming out in September-ish? Wondering if I should wait to get one then? Also, what's a good walk away number for the amount paid over invoice? I know these guys have to make money, it is a business after all, but from the sound of it here, a few hundred bucks over invoice seems to be a good number to shoot for. Is that accurate?

Sorry if these are repeat questions, I don't have the time or energy to read through 67 pages haha

Ask for invoice pricing. There's still meat on the bone for them. If they say $500 over you'll still be in good shape.

OME, sliders, dents, hail damage, soiled armrest. Lightbulbs.

I say 3-5% over (true) invoice, plus tax. ALL other fees included or accounted for, such as destination, doc, TDA, gas, title/license. No extras.

Use the calculation spreadsheet from carbuyingtips.com to figure it out.

    Edit: here's the link: https://www.carbuyingtips.com/download/offer.xls

Edit 2: use truecar.com to look at recent sales data in various zip codes to see what a decent deal might be. Shoot for the left side of the bell curve.

Nice job, where was this? And can you please itemize that for us? Curious if that includes all fees. And did you have a trade-in?

So I've been to two different dealerships today to check out two TRD Sports 4X4 with just the tow package and all weather mat. At my first dealership, I was offered $35000 OTD. This truck had not been build yet. At my second dealership, I was offered $34850 OTD. Both OTD pricing include tax title and fee. Do you guys think that is a good deal or can I still work them down just a little bit more?

What do you mean by AC or DC? And my tax rate is 6.25%.

Access cab or double cab. The prices make a big difference when deciding if it's a good deal or not.

Not a great deal but it also isn't horrible either. Start with your invoice price, add in $900 for delivery, tax and any options. That would be the ideal price. Calculate that using the first post on here.
