Made a thread for this, but incase anyone is in the area:
We are on our way to Moab (hopefully) and haven't yet made it out if VA yet. We're in Bristol and going to try to make it to Nashville in about 4 hours. But I have a failing passenger CV!!! I've got the part and I'm pretty damn sure most all of the tools. We have a parking lot I can work on it in but could really use a second hand!! The gf's great at pushing the break or handing tools but clueless about the mechanics

:woot: Purchased an awesome new 10k trailer that ACTUALLY fits my truck!
Is everyone looping over the LCA to tie down the front? I've never trailered my truck besides a couple jerry rigged recoveries before...

I run a short strap through the wheel and then straight out front. The rear is on the axle and crossed. You don't want to strap around the lca.

Interesting, seems like both methods are good. I have the same yellow straps as you have @SMKYTXN
Do I really need a short strap? Seems fine to just loop thru the wheel or LCA and back to the same eyelet as the ratchet.

Made it to Nashville on the dying CV... Luckily we'd planned a short "lay-over" here so I've got about 5 hours tomorrow to tear into and fix it.. Shouldn't be an issue.. Only thing is, I've got an ok size breaker bar but no cheater pipe to throw on it and earlier I could t break the hub but loose.. Hopefully a couple hours more getting hot and having some PB blaster on it has loosened some things up a bit

I don't see why not. Just make sure you don't end up with slack due to the strap getting bound up when you tighten them.

    Night runs!

    Friday:

Night runs to follow after the photoshoot

    Saturday:
    Trial runs throughout the day
    Dinner 6-7pm
    Raffle to follow

we do request the camping spots before the ravine and immediately after stay vacant for organizers and sponsors. see the map below, the black circle. red circle is typically where we put the toilets. green circle by the entrance where the dumpsters usually are.

if you setup early and are in these locations, you will be asked to move...

    also a couple other notes...

DO NOT PARK ON THE GRASS/PLANTS
DO NOT PARK IN THE TREE LINE

we will make rounds while we're out there to make sure everyone is in a good position. we need to respect this land as it is not ours and need to keep this area open for years to come.

we will try to get some organizers there as soon as we can during the week to assist you in finding a proper camping spots if you are unsure.

for reference this is one of the areas we need vacant for us...it is at the bottom of the hill before you climb out of the little ravine to the lower lot.

here's a video on how to get to Area BFE and take note at 0:56 to 1:00 this area will be utilized by organizers and sponsors...the area to the right at 1:00 will also be used...that is the black circle on the map above. the main camping will be straight ahead, all the way to the trees at 1:00 all the way to 1:15 is all valid camping...as you get closer to that back hill, do not drive on trees, shrubs, grass, anything living..

If you don't have straps like jberrys that are able to connect back onto itself, it'll make your life a lot easier to get some axle straps rather than running the whole strap through :)

What makes you say it's dying? I think the axle nut is torqued to 170 ft-lb
