watching that video now, it looks super easy.

Having been there in person, I can tell you that shit looked impossible and I was scared for him as well lol. The very top part of that hill was a damn near vertical climb.

It's always funny and kinda disappointing how photos and video never truly capture how hard a trail really is. I suspect it's usually due to the broad daylight on film; lack of shadows and depth don't do the terrain any justice visually on camera.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Alternative opinion: maybe it ain't as gnarly as you think and seeing the camera footage is really what the trail is like?

I'll always be more concerned about lateral roll than I will about rolling end over end.

Yeah I've hit a few trails where the pics will never give it justice. I would still love to try it even though I'll most likely fail due to stick shift lol

Only issue is the risk of huge crowds being out...

True...I was actually kinda worried about that today with the larger than expected convoy we had going backwards up Rowher lol, but we only came across a couple of other guys (one of which had a solid axle '85 that was sweeeeeeeeeeeeet)

But yeah on Memorial Day it'll likely be more crowded, I've never been to Gorman/Hungry Valley before though so I'm not familiar with the lay of the land

Wide-angle does nothing but damage to the perspective of terrain when you're standing right next to it.

For real...I took a 1 hour nap after I got home from today's run and I missed out on almost 6 pages of posts about today and future meets...

Details about upcoming runs usually get ironed out closer to the actual date...between now and then it's a local BS thread haha

@SlipperyTaco look what you started lol

    Big Bear is local...ish? lol

Big Bear is on my must-do list this summer, once the hot weather out here kicks in I need to head for higher ground while wheeling...can't stand the heat :bananadead:
