    I've got a horrible clicking noise during hard turns ( in and out of driveways, things like that) and the boot is splitting fairly rapidly

    Clicking is the balls drying out so the grease must be coming out of the boot. It doesn't much life left in it.

    Correct, you cannot grease it. You'll just have to replace it. If you manage to limp it all the way to Moab, I'll be more than happy to help you swap it out. I've done it several times and can usually have a cv axle swapped out in 30 - 45 min.

    Thanks guys!! So far it's only making noise SOMETIMES during hard turns.. For now, we're leaving Nashville headed for St. Louis, I'll be stopping to check it periodically and hopefully we can make it!!

    First carnage of the trip and not even to Moab yet. A passing travel trailer managed to create such a big wind gust that it straight up tore my drivers side front fender flare right off the truck
