Height gets into the pinch weld, width can hit the frame depending on your wheels. At least thats what I'm running into.

Cutting the fender liners got rid of most of the problem. I need to crush my pinch weld some more but its drive able with the fender liners cut and pinch weld bent over.

My tires are 285/75r16 ko2's not sure what the wheel offset is.

    Edit: what @Blackdawg said.

Width will also get into the pinch weld and fender more since you have to push them out more to clear the UCA and frame.

so a 255\75\17 and a 265\70\17 should fit np at all then if my rim has the same off set just going to a 17" from a 15" then correct? and with the 255 being 32" it should be more then fine correct? i know were talking only .4 inches difference but it might mean it wont work for what i need is all sry....

Your 4Runner rims have 4.5"ish bs? Should be okay with 11" wide tires to keep it off the UCA. A 32" could rub the frame a little though

Drop bracket lift and booger welds
The wheel we used to test was 4" BS (when we were doing it we had the spacers off obvs so it could be as close to 3.75" bs as possible) and it rubbed the frame just a smidge. So we should be okay. And like Monte said I am running 315/s so a less wide tire.

Actually the tire we used was a full 35x12.5 to do the testing. Granted it wasn't brand new but I think if I rub at all I can always beat it back a little bit if need be. I wanted to make sure I could go up to full 35's in the future if I want to. I honestly think the reason you had to cut out so much vs me is difference's in your body. I think that the differences between your 97 is so great that you just have a completely different style hole. If you look at other 01-04's that did it like @mrbeggins you can see the whole is similar to mine.

Also I want to publicly thank you @Blackdawg and @mrbeggins for answering all the questions I had before this, and your awesome write ups. Definitely made it easier for @Wheelspinner and I to know where to cut and how to truly test the fit.

I am in Syracuse, UT. Where are you?
One quart was plenty to do the back half of the frame (under the bed). I probably used 3/4ths of the quart going really heavy. You might stretch a quart doing the whole thing.

So would a 255/75/17 be ok since it only like a butt hair over 10" wide? I guess I'm just going to have to run down to tire shop this week and test fit if I can...
I get my brake parts this weekend and want to be ready to put them on before hand..

It was my understanding that late model toyota wheels had more bs than 4.5". I can confirm your stock wheels have 4.5"

Look for the 17x7 stamp on your wheels. There should also be an offset number.

So right now a 31/10.5/15 fits no issues at all and I just want to go with a taller tire to fill gap better is all .

265/70r17 is the same width as your 10.50s and a much more popular size over the 255. 57 tire choices vs 7 tire choices at Discount. Somebody else can comment on the height clearance.
