I can't today. My sister is out and I'm watching my/our mom. BUT, if you could just keep an eye out for a 1st gen taco. I've heard of Hesperia, but I've never been. Victorvile, I've been there once when we were visiting, at the time, a friend of the family's relative. Anyways, I've been to Victorvile, but that was many, many moons ago, LOL!!!

The next time you plan on going, let me know in advance and I wouldn't mind going out that way, taking shi- apart, and hanging out!!! Keep this in mind for the next time you ever plan on going :fistbump:

But yeah, if you can keep an eye out for a 1st gen taco for me.:fistbump:

    Thanks Kyle.

Will do! I hit hesperia all the time. Rarely go to victorville. I've found that the guys there are kind of assholes. I only go there if I really need something and hesperia doesn't have it. Main reason I'm going last minute today is because 40% off  and I need a new alternator :pout: If time permits I'll see if I can rip out some cams too. Still not sure if I want to trust them

AWESOME!!! Just let me know and I'll make the trek out there!!! Drag @Nicklovin Nick out there to to get that damn vest of his F'N dirty, LOL!!! Don't hate, participate!!! ROFL!!! I know that is what Nick will be saying!!! LOL!!!

Honestly Kyle, it wouldn't hurt to get the used cams... assuming that you really need them to complete what you have to do.

But yeah, let me know about your next junkyard outting!!!

Yeah its been a pretty unanimous decision by everyone I've asked to have them replaced. Normally I'd do it without asking, but money :frusty:

@4WALKER you're a mechanic and you give good advice. What do you think?

Ehh I cleaned the cams before I put then there and they're not on the bare counter. Good enough. I'm sure that since it's my step dad's counter there has been much worse on there

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
I had a friend who was in love with that one. I love the Art/Tart of Darkness and Hottenroth! Just about anything "sour" or "funky" off their menu is a winner.

I'm not a mechanic... I just play one on TV...
Seriously though pics don't look good. To be sure though, things would need measurements etc.
If it were a customer I would go that route but I'm a cheap bastardy on my own car and only woulds done the gasket that blew and wheeled it till the rest gave up. At this point your doing damn near a rebuild on a pos 3.0...

Hey hey hey the whole block is not a pos. Everything else has been in pretty good shape so far. My theory is that the previous owner being the dumbass he is took the cams out and dropped the right one. Other than some minor scores the left one is perfect

In other news did the junkyard run. My old goldmine in Hesperia only had one 4runner today which didn't even have the engine so it was a waste of time! Only good thing about going there is I found the holy grail of Firebird/ Camaro parts which made to trip to that yard worth it. Went to the assholes at Victorville next and was able to hit the mother load of parts I needed. Ended up being a successful day other than not being able to get cams due to no time

Oh and for your enjoyment, the most pathetic drum brake I've ever seen!

I just had their "So happens it's Tuesday" imperial stout. It was pretty damn good. Sweeter than Black Tuesday. Smoking wood is delicious too.
