I got the other four no problem. I have one that just squirts out all around the fitting.

Sounds like you might have a stuck check ball ... or the black paint is blocking the hole. Try taking a pin and push down on the ball in the opening and make sure it moves freely. I hope this helps.

Crap. No luck. When I pump it most of it squeezes out all around the fitting and it definitely did not purge like the other fittings. What's interesting though is when I use a nail to pushing the ball in some of the grease I pumped in comes out. It's like it's only receiving a little bit and not filling the joint.

Perhaps that specific fitting needs replacing?

I just greased my U-Joints tonight. Front most zerk took 10 pumps. The remaining four took 4-5 pumps. Really easy to do if anyone is on the fence about doing it themselves.

they all face the same way so it is possible that they were facing toward the truck but I assume they were just lying because they are scumbags

So far, just a Hard Hat tonneau cover. Looking for mud guards and nerf boards.
I spoke with the service manager and explained everything that transpired during my visit. I told her I was not angry, just disappointed. The service report said that the washer fluid was filled. It was not. Not a big deal, but it goes toward confidence. If they said they filled the washer fluid and it was not done, then what else was not done? When I told her about the grease fittings, she said there are fittings. Bottom line is that Toyota has to get ahead of this. Maybe they don't care? I don't know. One other note. There is NO FREE SERVICE for 2 years. You paid for that. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If you think there is, I have some beautiful land in Florida I will sell you. Have a great Memorial Day holiday.

2016 OR DC, late March build date from Mexico, just picked up on 24-May... 6-10 pumps each on the rear drive shaft. I ran out of daylight and will do the front this weekend.

    Thanks Splitbolt.

    Cheers

Greased my rear 3 yesterday. Front two are a little harder to reach. I'll have em do it at the 5,000 checkup.

Just finished all 5, bought a new gun with a flexible hose off Amazon, always looking for excuses to upgrade my tools :). The front were harder but by holding the hose on the zerk it was possible. The heat shield was two easy bolts to remove for the rear u-joint on the front shaft. Used the specified grease also. Thanks for the help TW Forum.

You paid for Toyota Care in the price of your truck, this isn't something they are doing out of the kindness of their heart.

Late to the party here... bought a grease gun and a tube of grease today. I turned a 20 minute job into two hours, which is typical for me. But Holy cow! It was worth the trouble. Truck (4600 miles) now rolls freely down the road, as if I fully released the emergency brake. Test drove 27 miles and averaged 23 mph (20 percent highway.) That's at least a 3 mpg increase for me. The rear 3 zerks dry except for the little bit of black that oozed out.

Thanks OP, best mod yet. Will be checking my AT fluid next.
