    1. Use Truecar.com, enter all your data, look at the local and national sales bell-curve. Aim for the left half of the curve.

    2. Use this sheet to help analyze your deal and compare deals: https://www.carbuyingtips.com/download/offer.xls

    3. Anything between 3-5% dealer profit over TRUE invoice cost (as calculated on the sheet) should be a very good deal.

Sounds like either one would be a good deal then.

Is the curve on true car the OTD price including tax title and fee or is it the price before tax title and fee?

Sounds like the deals you've found were good. If you like the truck I would say jump on it.

That included registration for the tacoma, I live in oregon so no sales tax. I bought mine at Lithia Springfield Toyota, i live in Portland. Worth the 1.5hr drive to save roughly 4k.
I had a 2015 RAV 4 XLE that I bought my girlfriend that she drove for little over year that we traded in, which broke about even on that. Trade in for it was 21k owed 23.

I'm glad I waited it. I have a deal for a TRD Sport 4x4 AT DCSB with tow package and Tonneau cover for $34350 OTD with tax title and license. This deal also include the lifetime warranty. I'm putting a refundable deposit down tomorrow so they can guarantee the truck (shipping it from the distribution center) and price.

Please double check code 7148. It used to be about $600 higher.

He is including his sales tax on the price. It's a dcsb off-road 4x4 with tow and nothing else.

Question for you guys, got a quote from a dealer today I've talking to, says his price for a 4x4 DCSB OR, with towing, prem & tech, black tube steps, and bed lights is $36970 including all the options. MSRP on all the options is $3800 indicating his price is $33,170. According to what's at the beginning of this post, invoice on a 7544 is $31,582, over $2k cheaper. My question is, do you think the dealer is being truthful in saying I could get the truck for only $200 over his price when without options its still $2k over invoice? Does he really have that many fees and other expenses on a new order? (Sorry, this is a built-to-order order too). Could I press him for a little more, maybe throw some of these numbers at him and ask him to see the invoice sheet for a comparable truck?

Here's the build (side note, anything I'm missing you guys think I really should have?):

    Vehicle Description Model Code
    2016 TRD-Off Road 4x4 - Blazing Blue Pearl 7544 / 8T0
    Installed Options on vehicle:
    50 State Emissions FE
    Towing Package TO
    Cargo Bed Light BL
5" Oval Tube Step Black R2
    Vehicle Fueling G1
OR/Sport Prem & Tech Pkg no JBL (DC Only) HH

the problem is your either in GST or SET which means the markup on options is going to be higher that what Toyota suggests. the BL and G1 addons are a dead giveaway to being exclusive to GST/SET regions.

Yeah, all the guys down here are GST. Any thoughts on how much that markup is? Trying to figure out how low I can get this guy. I've reached out to other dealers this morning and will see if they come back at a comparable price or hopefully a few hundred less.

In October 2015 it was $31,715 MSRP. Taken directly from the sticker off a truck on the lot here in Grapevine, TX.

This is why it used to drive me nuts that everyone on this site seems to think invoice is the only way to negotiate price. Invoice is SOO variable in the Gulf States Region. I personally think it's best to negotiate based on MSRP + dest + Tax and a few misc. fees. If you manage to get 2-3k off MSRP, you're doing good.
