On millers were you engaging your clutch a lot to crawl up stuff? How old is your clutch (if you've had it replaced)

Only asking cause when I was ifs and stock geared I used my clutch ALOT (too much) to crawl up stuff and had somewhat similar symptoms, I eventually got used to it and 10,000 miles later my clutch felt like I was pushing a 25 pound weight. New LCE engineering clutch, no more issue.

BUT I'm not telling you to go buy a new clutch or anything lol

You have an aftermarket skid? The only stock skid I can think of is the little 8xwhatever 1/8 skid on the t case. I'd check your t case for any leaks... These cases aren't good at taking a hit

@Jimmynolife if you have a minute I posted up my issue in a new thread on the first gen forum

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...after-off-roading-today.434717/#post-12561647

The clutch, as far as I know is the original one and only has 27 thousand miles on it. That being said, I have no idea how hard the previous owner drove it with the supercharger on and I know that the stock Toyota clutch doesn't have a very long lifespan with a boosted v6....so maybe that combined with my last 3 weeks of relatively intense wheeling just put it on it's deathbed?

Honestly it goes into gear just fine (for now) it just has this weird, ugly noise it's making after shifting into 2nd and 3rd especially under high RPM now.

Yeah for whatever reason the previous owner put one on, someone at our last meet noticed it and pointed it out to me. It was pristine up until today lol. I'll take a pic of it

Hard to see here but there's a nice indent from a friendly rock right at the middle/end of it

eon_blue You made that look easy in the video. Your truck did amazing well!

Thanks to both of you for coming out today. I have been wanting to do that trail for along time.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
I would think the cat could cause some weird noises at a specific resonant RPM if it were leaking?? @eon_blue @Jimmynolife

Yeah it was a blast. Going to end up being my most expensive trip to date, but limits can't be found if they're not pushed.

I feel defeated for not making the entire trail without that needed yank, but overall still feel accomplished that I made it through EVERYTHING ELSE! Stoked overall and glad that I went!

Minus the lack of restrooms, the girls had a great time too!

You'd only be defeated if you did not exit the trail under your own power! A little pull is needed at times, drive on! :bikewhoops:

It was a blast indeed, trail damage is a part of the game! Like you said @MADSTEEZE, now your truck is 'anti-mall crawler' haha

Hopefully mine isn't that bad but whatever it is it won't be enough to keep me off the trails! Well....at least not until it's fixed anyhow
